Madden Football has sucked since the first playstation game.

It's not even worth playing. I would rather not play a football game than one that's pretending to be a sim but is a horrible representation of the sport.

THE best football games are as follows:

    1a. NFL 2k5
    1b. Tecmo Super Bowl

    That's it.
yeah i used to always play NFL 2k5 that game was good.

Great post. I really like how they've decided to spread out the ratings a little more this year.

the only people that say this are people that suck at madden, upset that they cant "Bo Jackson" over everyone like in Tecmo Bowl.

But Tecmo Super Bowl did kick ass.

Okay man, just keep telling yourself that.I have never found a sports game that I couldn't dominate.

But Madden isn't fun to play... so why WOULD I want to dominate it? Name the year of Madden you think is awesome and I can tell you why it sucks.

madden is highly overrated. saying that, ill probably pick up the NCAA game since EA decided to be a little less lazy and actually build my schools 30,000 seat stadium instead of giving us a generic 100,000 seat stadium like in last years edition. however, the best football game was 2k5, remember how good it was and remember that it was also 30 dollars cheaper than madden 05.

Good news sons. There is an automatic drop-back in this Madden. What that means is the QB can't scramble till he is done with his 5 step drop-back. This is going to be good for those QB scrambles at the goal line. Scoring in there is going to get a lot harder.

I'm determined to not give up on this game. It seems like they have gotten rid of all the stupid little glitches it has had over the last few years. I am really curious to see the halftime show, and the weekly highlights. If it is on the same level as 2k was I am sold. That is what made that game so much fun. I don't mind at all if a game is difficult, just don't make it difficult and glitchy at the same time.

I don't understand how Flacco can not be on that list as an improved player from last year. Or Matt Ryan for that matter.

    It's

    Still

    Gonna

    Suck

And it's going to eat up glowing magazine/website rating reviews who play it for half a season and declare it the best football game ever, before users get ahold of it and find out that you can cause X number of fumbles per game, run for 500 yards per game, or play a cheat defense that takes advantage of the way the game runs it's offensive progression and results in a nearly unbreakable D.

Mark it down. It's happened every single freaking year. EA does not care if their product simulates the real thing down to the letter, it's going to have 10,000,000 sheep buying their game anyway. It's been ty for 10 years (with 2003 being a possible exception), what makes this year any different?

I would typically agree with this type of post. However their sales numbers were down about 30% from the previous year. They pushed hard to communicate in the forums and the game developers have been up front and actively working with the public. I've seen no less than 10 gameplay shortcomings (not just visual ones) be addressed with video proof of the changes simply based on public demand on the Operation Sports forum. There are serious improvements and I think the guys developing the games have made some pretty significant strides this year. Also the inclusion of the guy who developed Head Coach looks to be a pretty good move. We should have nearly a fully transplanted Association by next year.

I think we get at least a solid product this year. Not the best ever but very solid.

You expect too much, instead of playing it for what it is... a ing video game.

Yeah, there are some glitches here and there, but EVERY GAME HAS THEM. It's just that a game like Madden has such a compe ive fanbase that some heads spend all their time trying to find ways to utilize these to their advantage. Just don't play the game with those morons. Play it the way its supposed to be played with other people who play it for the same reason, and it's a damn good game.

Sorry, I guess, "Not wanting a game to suck" is setting my standards too high.

Seriously though, that's a ridiculous statement to make. Games will not get better unless gamers demand more from the people who make them. You can continue to be a sheep and s out $60 for the SAME GAME every year, but that's now how I choose to spend my money.

Yeah, there are some glitches here and there, but EVERY GAME HAS THEM.
7 interceptions per game is not a glitch. Sorry. It's just not. There's no arguing this point, either. You're wrong. Madden isn't full of glitches. It's full of gameplay.

It's just that a game like Madden has such a compe ive fanbase that some heads spend all their time trying to find ways to utilize these to their advantage.
No, it's "just that" EA has never been able to make a football game that's a faithful recreation of the sport. Being able to run the same 4 running plays for an entire season to run for 2600 yards and a 15-1 record with 38 points per game is not a result of gamers taking advantage of a system. It's a broken system that does not accurately represent football.

Just don't play the game with those morons. Play it the way its supposed to be played with other people who play it for the same reason, and it's a damn good game.
No, it isn't. Madden has not been a "damn good game" in almost a decade. NFL 2k5 is still a better football game than any Madden ever created. THAT game has glitches, but it relatively accurately depicts how a football game is supposed to work.

Madden is an arcade game disguised as a sports simulation that has never been able to give any kind of a realistic statline when the 4th quarter ends.

CH is pissed because I played him on Live today and ran "PA Middle" on 3rd and goal a few times, effectively giving him no way to prevent a touchdown. My screen flashed "The connection to your opponent has been lost" a few seconds after I was up 28-3.

Man, that might have a shred of credibility if I have owned a single Madden le in the past 5 years.
