THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT... Duncan doesn't just have a sprained knee or some totally recoverable injury.. he has STENOSIS.

He needs to shut it down and try out the newer treatment options available to try and reverse the effects. If he keeps playing on it he could make this a lingering injury that never heals.

Sorry I can't root for my team to lose. I'm hoping they win.
I'm not rooting for them to lose, but I think recognising the almost inevitable is better than getting my hopes up. I'm just going to take each game for what it is, a game of basketball.

I'll still be cheering to the last second we're alive, but I can see that won't be long into May.

Anyone else think being swept out of the playoffs in the first round is the best thing that can come out of the remainder of this season?

Even with the big three at 100% and the old Popovich coaching the way he is capable of coaching the Spurs had their work cut out for them.
With the current state our le hopes are dead and gone.

I'd like to see Parker and Duncan get a nice long rested summer, Popovich to get a wake up call and Manu to rehab. Anyone outside of Parker and TD should be entertained in trade talks this offseason. Manu will likely reamin a Spur as his value here is likely much higher than his value in a trade.

Outside of the big three I really want to see the youth movement begin. I can not bear to watch another season wasted with these old stiffs, expecially with Parker in his prime and TD's career winding down.
Why you would wish that on your own team I have no idea. GTFO.

Would you rather a youth movement begin?... or a use of the MLE on Sheed or Dice to make TD's last couple years on the spurs as useful as possible. I prefer the ladder.

Im always the eternal optimist when it comes to the Spurs. It the play-offs so i want to see them give it their best shot, rise to the challenge and make some noise. Second round atleast.

I'd love to see Camby or Sheed filled in at the 5, but regardless of how we use the MLE we need youth. Anyone who doesn't see this is blind.

By youth movement I don't mean lets rebuild for 5 years down the line. I mean let's shy away from being the oldest team in the league. Bring in a few young, fresh bodies to fill in those gaps we traditionally have filled in with veterans.

Personally, I don't think it has to be one or the other. With the right moves, they can accomplish both, on a gradual scale of course.

The irony of the logic makes this a winner actually. Long rest is what's needed at this juncture and it's obvious the Spurs aren't doing anything past round 2 or 3. Tank it.

This is what happens when you let posters with less than 100 posts make topics. Sad day at ST when a Baker fan has more faith in your team than you do.

I had some issue with the way Pop coached the Portland game, but this thread leads me to another point of contention. The Spurs fan. Spoiled is not a strong enough word. I yelled and screamed while I was at the game and people turned and looked and sipped from their drinks like they were at a tea party. Even when we had a lead the fans reminded me of the Eloi as they are about to be devoured by the Morlock. "No, big deal." ........... and now we have post that feels we would be better off for all intended purposes not even in the playoffs.

Tell that to the Clippers, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Charlotte, New Jersey, Toronto and so forth. The Spurs players do deserve to be in the playoffs. I am not quite sure that the Spurs fans deserve to be there, as well.

    We are the Spurs!

We kick ass and take names.

    Stop being so damn negative.

Support our players through thick and thin!

Our front office deserves our support after delivering us 4 les.

We have just as good a chance as anyone to win the le this year.

Spurs are gonna go all the way in 2009!

    Go Spurs Go!

yes, I wanna die fighting and kicking some good asses, just keep TD in 20 min per game, let the rest go and make a statement.

Give the f..g ball to TP and run the show.
