Be cool if it happened. I have my doubts. He used to be real dangerous in Denver.

2 years 17 million would still be too much.
Jake Delhomme was on the 1997 Marlins?!
Really?
Talking about Javon. If my 1st name wasn't eric and my last name didn't start w/ a B, I'd be annoyed.
lol Delhomme is still going to start the next game. They need to think about the future of the Panthers.
At no point in his career should Jake have been a starting Quarterback. Had there been a legitimate franchise QB in Carolina they may have won a Superbowl by now. Rewarding him like this is just putting more dirt on the grave of John Fox.
If they had a real franchise QB last year, they would have won it all.
I have to disagree, for a while Delhomme was a good quarterback. Especially the season they went to the Superbowl.
like john fox is that great anyway
Indeed.
NFL contracts aren't garunteed. The signing bonus is first year year's pay assuming they stick on the roster is about the only relevant portions.
They could have said a 10 year, 500 million contract and it doesn't mean much.
One day after enduring Jake Delhomme's second straight nuclear bomb in nine months -- the first against Arizona in last season's playoffs, the second against Philly on Sunday -- an unknown Panthers fan put Delhomme up for sale on Craigslist. The ad only lasted for a few hours before being pulled down, but here's what it said:
- NFL QUARTERBACK JAKE DELHOMMEFOR SALE BY CONTRACT -- Jake Delhomme, NFL QB, 11 years, 6'2" 215 lbs. Age 34. 15 TD's in 2008, 12 INT's. Loyal. Needs a Loving Home. Serious Offers, Please. Trades Accepted. Contact: (coach) John Fox.

Panthers cut Delhomme in change of guard at QB
By MIKE CRANSTON, AP Sports Writer 40 minutes ago
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—The Carolina Panthers have cut Jake Delhomme, just over a year after they gave him a lucrative contract extension only to watch him have his worst season as a pro.
Agent Rick Smith confirmed the move late Thursday. It signals the Panthers intend to go with Matt Moore or someone new at quarterback for the first time since Delhomme burst onto the scene in 2003 and led Carolina to the Super Bowl.
After committing six turnovers in a playoff loss to end the 2008 season, Delhomme had 18 interceptions last year before being sidelined for the final five games with a broken finger.
The Panthers still owe the 35-year-old Delhomme about $12.5 million in guaranteed money.
Carolina also released veteran defensive tackle Damione Lewis.

No they don't. Delhomme has enough undeserving guaranteed money coming his way, it'd be stupid if all 45 million were guaranteed.
He got his guaranteed money. He wasn't worth his contract anyways.
What happened to Matt Moore? I thought they were high on the kid from Oregon St./UCLA?
They said Moore is the starter headed into training camp.
