The SC American Gladiator kicker and White Jesus really seemed like vanity picks, but not as bad as Oakland drafting that safety in the 2nd.
Picking a kicker in the 5th was pretty stupid too, IMO.
Nick Folk has been money. If you want to bring a kicker in for a little compe ion, that's fine but you bring in a FA. I like the OT they got though.

Seriously?
Please don't tease us with talk of sites providing comic relief. Give us the links so we can all have a good laugh.
dallascowboys.com doesn't count.
Seriously though, you should link those sites.
Best grade I found so far is a C from Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News. Not exactly the most un-biased of opinions.
True. He did give an A+ to those Texans though.![]()
I would have as well.
Yahoo gives Dallas a C+

Wade and Jerry talk draft (audio)
http://www.theunticket.com/fake-jerr...ps-talk-draft/
Jason Williams was a play maker for Western Illinois defense. I will have to wait and see, it might not be as bad as the fan think. As for the kicker, he also had other skill as a linebacker, runningback, and quaterback during his high school and junior college year.
Whoever heard of DeMarcus Ware when most of the fan wanted Shawn Merriman. Ware is a pretty good player.
Although having a whole bunch of people to play special teams couldn't hurt. Imagine what the Cowboys might be able to do with a little bit of field position.
The He-Man kicker is going to kick off and light up the return man. Then when needed he'll horse collar McNabb and TO his legs. The beast is getting unleashed.
Props to Jerry for using 10 of 12 picks to enhance special teams....pffttttt
Because of the "He-Man" kicker, i think that improves the overall draft grade to an F+...
Hey, for what's it's worth be outbenched Maualuga & out ran Matthews at USC. That's what I'm talking about. Get Big Buehler!
Daniel Sepulveda could kick his ass.
Honestly though, we did need to improve the special teams. They have been terrible the past two years. Not to mention that while Folk is great at kicking long field goals. He isn't on kickoffs. He always kicks it short. Maybe that's do to coaching or maybe he just simply does not kick it deep enough. But that hurts our special teams tremendously. Our coverage is also inconsistent.
With all the cap money tied up and all the cash going Ware's way it's obvious Jerry and the Puppet drafted to turn over the bottom of the roster from more expensive vets to cheap late round rookies while hoping a couple of them turn out to be gems who compete for starting jobs down the line. Will it work? We'll see - but no doubt money played a big issue in this draft.
There's only so much money you can spend with the hard cap the NFL has. Here's to hoping the Scouting Department knows their stuff.
I wish all of you guys would just jump on the Houston Bandwagon and stay there. We appreciate you rooting for our team, but most of you had made your hatred for the city of Dallas very clear. Get a new team other than the spurms, silver stars, and missions................
hahahaha, whoooo
DALLAS!!!!!
Exactly!
I'd love a kicker who can kick it out of the back of the end zone during kickoffs.
Odds are I have been a Cowboys fan longer than you. I haven't jumped off their bandwagon yet, why start now?
Folk had ZERO touchbacks this last year, which is unbelievable for an NFL kicker. Dude has ice running through his veins when it comes to kicking a field goal, and I love him for his clutchness, but he lacks in the kick off department. I hated seeing teams start at the 30, 35, 40, or 45 yard line after a bad kick off and poor tackling on special teams
This kid Beuller(sp?), 55% of the time gets touchbacks. AND he can tackle. Alot of these players the Cowboys drafted contributed to and were really good on special teams in there college careers. Now we can get guys like Austin, Hurd, Stanback out of there on kick offs and get guys in there who know how to tackle a mother er.
I think a lot of Folk's problem on kickoffs is that he was instructed by the coaches to directional kick to try to help out the ty as special teams coverage unit. They wanted him to kick high and towards the sideline to try to pin the returner and use the sideline as a barrier. He had like 4 or 5 kickoffs that went out of bounds last year, and this is the reason why. The coaches didn't want him to kick straight away deep because if he didn't get a touchback there was a damn good chance the ty coverage unit wouldn't fill their lanes and give up 6. Getting better special teams coverage units is the 1st step to not having to have your kicker try to hit the corners all the time.
Didn't the NFL outlaw the wedge just to help Dallas' special teams?
