td did accept 2m lesser on his last contract to leave enough space for the spurs to sign gino on what he is earning now....
Except he did. He was too stupid to keep himself healthy.

u r a dumb ass
I'm sure everyone already knew his importance. However, a championship team needs to have depth to make up for health issues, and the backups should be enough to get past the first round. The Spurs just didn't have it. They really never got anything going this year, and weren't better than the other 7 teams below the Lakers. Hopefully that'll be resolved next year.
So they're both loyal to the organization, what's your point?
commitment mate, you see that?
Pop made a lot of mistakes this season. If he would have let G Hill develop, they could have survived a bit longer without Manu. But to win a le, the Spurs needed the big 3 healthy. HOpefully all three of them will be back next year.
I appreciate all the positive things Manu has done for this team but he really screwed the Spurs over by not resting last off season. I had advocated since last year to trade Manu while his value was high, that time probably won't be coming again anytime soon...
I'm bookmarking this thread. All you pieces of aren't welcome back on Manu's bandwagon when he comes back to play next year, sorry sons of es.
P.S. Manu or no Manu, we shouldn't have lost the way we did to this Mavs team. Besides, even with Manu, when your team plays as crappy as the Spurs played this series, you ain't got much of a future.
he's cost us at least two championship opportunities now...so until he helps us win 2 more, him and his bandwagon. he has a big debt to pay off in my opinion.
10.7 mil
manu doesnt owe to you or the rest of these fairweather fans.
Does being on Manu's "bandwagon" mean anything...I mean seriously?
You're a dumbass. Playing in the olympics had nothing to do with the stress fracture in the right ankle. All NBA players play in a summer league or some kind of pick up compe ion regardless of whether it is the olympics or not.
You know how valuable Manu is when nobody else can create his own offense.
Or 82 games of never-ending-regular season that may cause fatigue.
Wrong, without Manu the spurs only have one championship. The basketball IQ of this forum is terrible!!!
you make it sound like manu is irreplaceable on those championship teams and years in between?
yeah its really easy to replace a top 3 sg who was willing to come off the bench and competes like manu.
You were going to need a Kobe Bryant to make up for Manu in 2005 (and even then I'm not sure the Spurs woul have win it) and without 2005 you can forget of 2007 'cause the FO would have probably shipped Parker.
lol @ this thread
If Manu do something: his fault
If Manu do nothing: his fault
Just trade him and be happy![]()
It's a difficult position to be in as an organization. When Manu is healthy, he's easily the best sixth man in the league and a top 5 SG. But if we can't get that production in the postseason, he's absolutely useless to this team.
If Manu is going through injury issues next year, do you look to move him at the trade deadline? Or, assuming you don't move him but don't have post-season success, do you re-sign him or renounce his rights and seek a healthier option? There are difficult questions the Spurs' FO has to answer here, and it has little to do with his past performance.
lol @ argy fans who think ginoboli is top 3 sg in the league.....
