I said on the beginning of the season that Mason was a guy who chucked up shots and that's about it.

I thought I was wrong with the regular season.

I'm wrong now. The guy is a team player, but stick to what you've been doing you're whole career and shoot.

Inasmutch as I like Roger, I have to agree with you. George Hill is the perfect subject: played first half of the year, spot minutes second half, to 0 in the last few games and into the post season till game 4 and 5. He handled it beautifully.

I just hope Pop saw what so many of us saw in George Hill. I hope Pop really gives the kid minutes early in the 2009-2010 season and let him learn from his mistakes.

I wouldn't mind Mason sticking around but, no more trying to make him into what he is not. He is an offensive #2 guard who can jump shoot from a distance. He was fearless in the first half of the season and then Pop screwed with his head and he was never the same. Hopefully, it is not permanent and he'll be hitting shots again next season. But, coming off the bench. He is just not a starter and shouldn't be until he learns how to drive to the hoop. He seems afraid of the paint area.

No you didn't compare Magic Johnson to Roger Mason lol...c'mon...to me Magic is in the top 3 all time SIMPLY FOR THE FACT he can play all 5 positions...remember how bad Horry was in his 1st playoffs w/ the Spurs?...Finley too...i think Mason's confidence was definitely thrown off by Pops rotation or whatever but the point is...I have to give him another year...

Got your attention with the ol' Magic man, eh! he,he

    Magic & Michael were special!!!

Agree on this topic. Mason will be fine...with a fully healthy Spurs team with TP, Manu, and TD..everyone will be back on Mason's nuts next year in no time. He just needs better looks to shoot...SHOOT, which will open up more when Manu gets back on the court. He is strictly a shooter...not a PG.
