Which is how many rings Ray Allen would have if his teammates were Rick Smits and Derrick McKey instead of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
You forget about 04? And if not for the re ed ass brawl and Artest just generally being a moron, Pacers were probably favorites in the East in 05 as well.

    Ray Allen.

Miller only averaged 19 in his career? I thought it would've been more.

I would also rather hear Ray Allen do commentary during a game.
Reggie's scoring average came down a bit with his later seasons where more of the scoring load was dealt to guys like O'Neal and Artest. That's sort of the stage the Allen is entering into now.

But I do agree about the commentary. I'd rather listen to Gilbert Gotfried give play by play on his prostate exam than listen to Reggie talk during a game.

Yeah, Reggie played until he was like 45. His career stats took a dip because of that.

Did you watch the 04 ECF and how worthless Artest was? As for O'Neal, his 04 season is maybe the most overrated year by a player in NBA history. How do you get 3rd in MVP voting as a bigman shooting an Olowokandi-esque 43%? Aside from that, he was awful in that series as well. Smits/McKey was better than those clowns.

One setback Reggie had to deal with was he had more overlap with MJ than Ray.

Think how many teams MJ on during their peaks, Phoenix, Portland, Utah, countless teams in the east. (Houston got lucky sneaking in the window he was out playing baseball)
To go along with being lucky the Suns coughed up TWO easily winable series against us. You know you'd claim 'em if you guys had prevailed.

in THIS series Gay Allen has been Miller-esque, no doubt about it.

reggie's PLAYOFF career pgg was like 24-25ppg

also reggie was never on a team as good as Gay's celtics, and he never had even close to as good a supporting cast. and he NEVER disappeared or had poor series. in this year's 1st round Gay has been = miller. BUT, this is how miller would play consistently in EVERY series.

so overall id say Reggie > Allen

Pardon me if I don't remember perfectly, but wasn't Reggie able to create his own shot? I realize he was primarily a set shooter, but if I'm not mistaken he had better handles than Ray Ray.
Exactly the opposite, as the difference in their assist numbers indicates.

Allen was a much better penetrating guard than Miller was.
