not very big
Of course the Spurs should be prepared to make him a good offer when they are allowed to in 2010.
And the Spurs, by that I mean Pop, knows that a mistake was made with respect to Scola. He has said so publicly:
“It kills me to have him on that team,” Popovich said. “Enough to make you spit.”

I was just lamenting how many threads devolve into Scola threads.
That is correct. The Spurs will be able to offer much more in 2010.
Everything you need to know about it is outlined by Tim Varner on his blog:

Which was based on posts by Bruno in this thread:

You know... I wasn't all too impressed honestly. In the NBA, a lot of his stuff would be sent back to the rafters, charged called, or foul called. I hope he gets better than this if he does come over in 2010. Give him more minutes please!
Of course, this is just one You Tube video, but usually those are the impressive ones.
Splitter would be a good, not great, player in the NBA. He'll be a valuable contributor to whatever team ends up taking advantage of the Spurs like the Rockets did.
How do you break a bunch of bean bag chairs?
TS appears to be a LOT better, younger, athleticker than any non-TD big Spur.
Why are we even wasting time on discussing this loser anyways. If you recall it like the guy is wanting to come here and play he has made no such commenting... its been a couple of yrs now, move on all. If the guy wanted to be a spur already it would have happened in one way or the other. It hasnt so stop wondering if we should sign the guy. That er obviously likes it over there is getting paid why come here.
I dont remember for any other player foriegn or homebreed why we(as spurs fans) care so much for this loser, hes never played for us, And people act like he's the next coming of Jordan or some .
i say him we dont need a player who is all about himself and money.
He has shown no intrest in playing with the SPURS or his desire to make it happen, if spurs wanted him bad enough they would have bought out his contract........
SO EVEVERYONE GET OFF TIAGO SPLINTERD ASS ALL READY, HE'S A SCRUB KEEP HIS ASS OVER SEA'S.
This at ude sent Scola to Houston. I dont want that to ever happen again.
He clearly has the talent to at least be a reserve 4/5 in the NBA. The Spurs hold his rights. He reportedly has a reasonable buyout next year and the Spurs will be able to make a compe ive offer. Thus we talk.
I wont hold it agaisnt you yet, but anymore of those type of lame rebuttals might cause a change in heart. I think you fall short of grasping the point of the post..... And further more really dont understand that Spurs faced two different problems between Scola & Splinter... Just make sure you do a bit more research on why spurs did what they did before posting......
From understanding rights are lifted after this season and any team can talk to him. Could be wrong but read it somewhere in previous blog or something. Talking to a point is all good but, dont expect much to come from it. Spurs need help and need it fast. Im all for Splinter coming here if it were more than just chatter around Spurstalk. but i dont hear any mention of it from FO peers who make the calls.
Spurs hold his rights unless they trade them.

Once again there is no financial problem in club of Baskonia. Just ignore these fools that keep state this lie over and over.
Another pipe dream. Puff puff give. Add him to the GROWING number of what if's and what could have been's....
hmm sounds familiar. How did that other scenario work out?

just what we need, another undersized white center who lacks athleticism.
this is hilarious coming from a guy named Renaldo Balkman
2 words. Luis Scola
I just got off the phone with Tiago: I didn't understand a damn thing. He refused to speak to me in English, so I just made a farting noise and hung up.
I don't think he's coming.
Yeah, there's no doubt the Spurs are going to be able to take advantage of Tau's money problems and try to bring him over.
Why does idiots keep lying about Baskonia having financial trouble. It is NOT true you morons. TAU is not even related to the club even one bit.
i can tell from looking at this guy that he would be soft in the NBA and would probably get pushed around/stuffed/outrebounded/dunked on by the NBA's superior black athletes.
But since Baskonia has so many troubles financially, the Spurs should be able to get him for a song. He'll definitely be an upgrade to the center rotation.
