You got picked! You are so lucky!
I always want to get picked and never do. I have never even been taken for a panel.
So I went today and I got picked to be on the jury. .
Some homeless dude for beign drunk in public. .
I came home because they gave us a lunch break and they want me back the court at 130. .
My whole day is ruined. .
This process is a joke. Next time I get a jury duty letter I'm throwing that away.
Should have listend to my brothers/sister. They all got jury summons years ago and they didn't reply, and 6 years later............................nothig. .

I served on a capital murder jury. Fun, you betcha, but the guy (who was incredibly guilty, even the judge said afterwards that it was about as open-and-shut as could be) got a fair trial. I'm thankful that we did not have to worry about deciding whether to give the death penalty; for some reason, the prosecution took that option off the table before the trial started.
I've been on two jurys now. It's an interesting process. The first one, I didn't like, and we had bleeding heart liberals who wanted to award a woman maximum damages, even though she was at fault. We argued and argued in the jury room for hours. Shamed the lib s into the law, that just because one person has the resources, we don't reward the poorer of the two.
The second was an easy on. We nailed a gang-banger, on a clear case of assault. That one felt so good... No hold outs on the guilty pleads, just uncertainty of some on how many charges to find him guilty of. We found him guilty on all except attempted murder.
