Melvin Sanders, Alex scales, Darrius Washignton all I could think of in the recent/Tim Duncan era...
[quote=2slowman;3461441][quote=Frenzy;3461429]i wish i could give you more details... i would know if i saw him.... i just remember in one game and in one play he went up to dunk got fouled hard... and layed on the floor a while and the announcers saying this is horrible for such an up and coming player. oh he was not a big guy almost like TP size... lots of energy some tats...black.
I'll never forget when Derek Anderson was slammed by Juwan Howard in that Dallas game. He was going up for a dunk, and was badly hurt. He did come back and play, and then left on poor terms to play elsewhere, so that part doesn't fit.

that's the play i was thinking of....
and i said "i think never played again" didn't know for sure... thanks though![]()

Lloyd Daniels?
What a weird thread. I would never have guessed you were talking about Derek Anderson with "never played again." The guy played 6 or 7 years in the league after playing with the Spurs.
Didn't the Spurs draft some guy named Chris Carawell or something too one year? Whatever happened to that guy?
i edited the 1st post to help people out in case they didn't see it.![]()
Sounds like Derek Anderson. I remember he took a nasty fall(hard foul) in the playoffs . Can't remember what year. 2000, 2001? He left for Portland after that.
i remember being at that game it was game 1 against dallas in 2001 i think thats what started the whole spurs and mavs rivalry i don't know how mcuha difference DA would of mad in the lakers series but he was never the same again..i remeber when he was getting introduced when the blazers signed him there was a firealarm going off![]()
.......And the winner is:
Derrick Dial
I was @ that game too, a row full of mavs fans were sitting right behind me and they cheered like crazy when howard layed him out. They were assholes back then also.
yah that was good series even if we won easily
but yah there were alot of mavs fans at that game there was only 3 in our section though they had some 3 white dudes whith big ass cowboy hats they ended up getting booed out and got those pink pom poms thrown at them after the game I think spurs fans were always the assholes
we got our revenge on national tv before game 4 there was a crowd of spurs fans outside reunion arena with brooms while one of the guys were giving a interviewbut we failed to sweep the mavs that game though
yeah DA played for the bobcats for a little while. He also always seems to be rated strangely well in 2K and Live
I've always thought he would have made a difference. Think he was the 2nd highest scorer that year behind TD. The injury wasn't why he wasn't the same though. He was bustin his ass that year to get a fat contract. Once he got it with Portland he got lazy again. Once a clipper always a clipper.
Derek Anderson is an NBA champion with Miami!....![]()
Wow had it not been for derek andersons injury that year (separated shoulder) the spurs could have had a better chance in the 2001 confernce finals. We would have cruised against the 76ers. How about this '99, '01, '03, '05, '07.......daym!
Yeah he did a good job keeping Wade's seat warm for him.
This guy was a real loser. After he got his big contract I remember seeing him working out a Full Life Fitness Center with a Spurs assistant. He was on the machine and the assistant told him to do 3 sets of 20. The assistant then went to work w/ another player. Jackson did like 15 reps total and when the assistant came back he told him he did 4 sets of 20. Doggin' it all the way.
