He can't go to Cleveland because LeBron would feel threatened since he's the best player in the league and Kidd being the second best player in the league.

Kidd has all the money he needs already. He wants a ring. The Lakers have the talent to assure him he will win with them.
If Kidd gave a crap about winning, he would have joined the Spurs in 2003. Kidd wants to get paid and will be in Portland.

I hope you are right. Dude is washed up but still a big upgrade over the trash we have at PG.
The trash that hit the two biggest shots of the season to give you the 3-1 lead in the Finals? I hope you're right too... I'd much rather see Fisher shipped out of town and Kidd taking those shots.

I don't see the Lakers resigning BOTH Ariza and Odom, and then giving Kidd their MLE. I could be wrong, but we'll see.

From one of the capologists at db.com:

It's not about Dallas as a place to live - it's still about the money. When writers go on and on about how Kidd's priority must certainly be a le - and then spin him to this destination or that as they feel like doing - my belief is they really haven't been paying attention. Kidd has said it in every conceivable way that he's looking for the team that will pay him that contract. If the NBA favorites want him enough to pay him top dollar, then sure that's his ideal. But he understands his biggest payday will come from a team that needs his skills, and that will be a contender - so he wants the contender that wants him the most, as evidenced by the check they'll write.

Lakers still win the series without those shots. Fisher was absolutely terrible the rest of the playoffs and was the main reason why Houston series went to 7 games. He's not really starter material.

Just because Kidd comes to the team doesn't mean Fisher wouldn't be in the game when the Lakers need a big shot. That's actually the perfect role for Derek Fisher. Player/Coach playing limited minutes off the bench, similar to Shaw late in his career.

Mitch made the mistake in 2003 by not upgrading the roster. I doubt he makes the same one again.

Kidd wants dough. Divorces are expensive, especially for wife-beaters.

He's not going to Portland for a big payday. I predict he resigns with Dallas for 3 years and $27 million.

9 million a year for a guy that will be 38 in 2-3 years? I guess Cuban is as stupid as he looks if he does that.

If the Laker don't get Kidd I know of a certain Canadian got that could start for them. Same goes for Dallas, actually more so since all Nash cares about is sword fighting with his friends like Dirk for example.

It was an epic loss from the beginning. Seeing him leave would not make things worse. He can hardly do anymore.
