latest reports about Yao' health might have changed a lot.
as bad as the news for the Rockets are, it hits them exactly when a great rebuilding window opens. they can be major players in the 2010 and 2011 free agency, if they call the T-mac and Yao era history AND they do not re sign Artest.
and Artest himself might not want to be part of a totally rebuilding franchise. it might take 3 or 4 years, till they are contenders again.
True. Yao's situation looms big here. I'd it depends on whether or not the Rockets believe that Yao could be there for the 2010 playoffs. If they don't, I agree with you. Let Artest walk, tank the season and be in a great position to re-tool in 2010.
