True story: Some friends and I went to a downtown DC dance club about 20 years ago. It was kind of a small place, and when we walked in I noticed a lot of people seated and nobody was really dancing. I'm walking through the club looking at all the people, wondering what's up, and I'm almost to the floor, and suddenly realize that my friends have stopped and are staring at me . . . no, wait they're not staring at me, they're staring at something behind me, and I turn around and there's Stevie grooving on the floor by himself with the whole club watching him. If I had taken another two steps forward I would have knocked him over.
