Not just marketing: treatment. Watch Kobe, Lebron, or Shaq in a game, and you see they get the ROYAL treatment. Talk about them all the time, what they've accomplished, how they're the best, drooling over this move or that, etc.
Now watch Duncan in a game. He's ignored: They'll talk about Tony, Manu, the crowd, Pop, ANYBODY BUT DUNCAN. They'll even talk about each other before Duncan.
None of these guys have come close to his career, but if you listen to the mouths talk, he doesn't even exist.
It's literally to the point that on nationally televised games, I have to mute the sound so I don't have to be bothered with the drivel.
why we shouldn't sign him?
see, I'm from germany and everybody here (except me) is looking like him. actually he would run as "the nice guy next door". if he plays basketball I would introduce him to another guy that called me "playing N$%&er ball" and then they could have a good time!
