Stoudemire has eye procedure

Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire has undergone outpatient surgery on his right eye.

The Suns said Friday the procedure was part of the recovery process from a Feb. 20 operation to repair a partially detached retina.

Team ophthalmologist Dr. Jay Schwartz said in a statement that a small amount of residual fluid was removed and called the surgery "routine."

After a workout at U.S. Airways Center on Wednesday, the All-Star forward said he was looking forward to next season and "ready to rock."

He might be going blind in that eye.

Sounds serious to have another eye surgery.

I had this same surgery 3 years ago and had to have the second surgery to remove the plastic belt they put on my eye because I could feel it. They put the belt on to help stabilize the wall of your eye and hold the repaired retina in place. By taking it off, it slightly increases the chance that the retina will come loose again, but at least you can't feel it every time you move your eye. I don't know if that's the same as what Amare had, but it doesn't mean he's going blind.

Does not sound too serious, but laughing at the poor guy, who was the absolute sheeyat before his injury troubles, abusing our very own Tim Duncan for 40+ a game in the playoffs, classless.

This was 2005 remember? Tim had two sprained ankles, and was left on an island to guard him alone, by design, so we could play their shooters and prevent the 3. It worked, to the tune of 4-1 Spurs.

When Tim was healthy two years later, and the Spurs were playing the same defense and leaving him alone on Amare again, his points dropped from 37 to 26.
