On a serious note, I think the mavs would be wise to take a hard look in Drew Gooden's direction.
Yeah probably him and Hollins. Gooden can also play the PF and backup Dirk.

lol wow. if it makes yall feel better even with gortat the mavs would be out in the first round. now probably no playoffs. spurs gonna run a train on ur asses
Yeah cause an unproven center was going to be Hakeem all of a sudden. Mavs will be fine....just sign Hollins and Gooden or another available PF/C. Damp is good enough to rebound and play D. Mavs still own the Spurs

Why not? Pickins are getting slim, and Gooden can give the mavs some low post scoring which they haven't had in forever. No doubt Gooden has plenty of faults in his game, but who out there doesn't?

    bummer if this is true.

He would've been a nice addition. Not going to back away from that. Mavs should never do biz with Orlando again; Cuban should've offered Bass more money and they should've never recruited Orlando into the Marion trade, since they got a TE out of it and Dallas didn't need Orlando to get it done. Obviously either Mark and Donnie are extremely naive or Smith stabbed them in the back.

But you're the mavs. Pissing away money is what you guys do. Memphis makes stupid trades, the Clippers develop talent for other teams, Indiana and Utah collect white guys and the mavs overpay people. It's the way things are.

Really, it is hard to not feel for our old nemesis the Mavs on this one. Maybe they (Orlando) want to retain him for a sign in trade for Bonner and Finley, or Luke Walton and Vujacic? That would really twist the knife.
