    Paul > magic, Stockton, Thomas, etc . . .
I did not claim that he was better than Magic, but Stockton and Thomas? Debatable for the latter.

Well, Dirk is a better shooter. Dirk is pretty much a better jump shooter than 99.9% of the NBA.
LMAO WTF??? ... now of course Dirk is a GOOD shooter, but better than 99.9%??? are you serious son? Dirk is a career .472% shooter from the field. how is THAT better than 99% of the NBA? LOL .... Paul has shot way better from the field than Dirk has over the last two seasons anyways.

He's a better jump shooter, not a better shooter in general. Dirk is an ungodly mid-range shooter.

I know Paul made the Hornets relevant, for the first time in like forever, but you should try looking at things without your turquoise colored glasses on.
oh son I'm sorry ... if that's the case, then you should also tell about 80% of this message board to take off their black and gray glasses.

Oh, please. Chris Paul can make ty players look somewhat passable. I would only put LeBron over him in regards to team success. The impact Paul has on games is immeasurable.
121-63 is also part of your team's success?

Do you want me to bring up the Mavs losing to one man 4 times straight? Or losing in 6 to the 8th seed? Come on, I know you can get more material than that.

son this post isn't just about Paul ... kinda funny how Maverick fans are always so damn bitter about Paul for some reason?

Paul is hands down more valuable than Dirk in EVERY way. you know the truth, you won't admit it ... but you KNOW the truth son
Players' ages are always counted when they are evaluated, and Paul is much younger than Dirk. It's true that Paul is more valuable for a team because he can serve his team many more years than Dirk does, but it doesn't mean Paul is better than Dirk in terms of the game only. The management of a team is a different thing than the games, when you're running a team then Paul is absolutely more valuable but you know whom you should choose if you only need to win a game rather than lose it by 121-63.

Really? I could have sworn that the Mavs and the Hornets both won the same amount of games against the Nuggets.

Wait... please elaborate on this impact he has that's immeasurable. Which, I'm assuming, you mean ONLY on the offensive end. Which is laughable to start with, considering LeBron plays both ends. How does he make David West better? How has Peja Stojakovic never really regained his form from the Sacramento days if he's such a point guard prodigy? The only person I see him making better is Chandler. And an alley oop thrown anywhere near the rim isn't a hard pass to throw... at all.
son you are a clueless er. Paul MADE David West an all star ... anyone who understands the game of basketball will tell you that.

06 finals and 07 first round were both muthafukin rigged. The video files of those games are still available for us to check, so you can easily find the proof to convince yourself that the Mavs were the best team in that season and deserving of the championship. However, I don't think a 121-63 came from the only affact of biased officiating work, even if that game was slightly manipulated.

David West was a nobody before Paul came along.

No, Peja hasn't gotten back to Sacramento form, and he's been injured a load of times.

You fail to take into account Sean Marks, Hilton Armstrong, Melvin Ely, Sean Marks, and the other bench scrubs.

Paul carried a depthless Hornets team to 49 wins in the Western Conference, playing without a true center half the regular season.

sons the truth is that MOST of you want Paul bad ... you hate on him all the time, but secretly you damn near ejaculate at just the thought of him being on YOUR team. you all know the truth ... he is hands down the BEST point guard in the WORLD and easily in the top 4 best players in the NBA today. the "hate" for Chris Paul on this message board is downright childish. "but but but mommy I want him on MY team! if he's not on my team then he sucks!!" - typical bitter Spurs/Mavs fan on this board.

I have to admit that what I love most is the pathetic, ignorant ass arguments that some of you bags attempt to use against Paul. you all fail miserably and many of your quotes about Paul are used as comedy on other basketball message boards. "but but his team lost in the playoffs 121-63!!! ummm yea that's all I got is this ONE game because there is nothing else I can think of to hate on Paul about!!! also I am leaving out the fact that he along with 4 others Hornets were playing injured that game! Paul sucks!!! Tony Longoria is the best!!!"

Then why doesn't Chris Paul make everyone around him an all-star? You're ing stupid to think Paul is someone that can make his teammates better, on the contrary what has often happened in their hive is talented guys being overlooked and buried, like Brandon Bass. David West would have probably been a legendary player like Dirk had he been playing on some decent team like the Mavs. Peja used to be a star of all-star weekend but we all have seen how much he has changed since joining Hornets, and how much the Hornets will pay him for next 2 seasons.

West didn't get any playing time before he came along, so that's a terrible example. West was also named the top player in college basketball by a few publications, so it isn't like he came up out of thin air.

So why not? Paul's IMMEASURABLE impact should make it 300x easier, shouldn't it?

Bench players aren't supposed to be all-stars.

I don't question him being a good-to-great player, but you can't even compare Paul to James. 49 wins is nothing, especially considering Paul probably has more talent at his disposal.
son do you even bother to look up facts before you make this idiotic post?

No one wants the backup PG of the God-blessed team US bad, but sincerely, you are listing a player with only 4 years experience in NBA parallel to 4 proven legends, who are all guaranteed future Hall of Famers. Paul is a nice youngster and will probably be a great player like his predecessors, but naming him top 5 at such an early time pretty much shows your naked fact that you are a homer.
