That it's not backwards compatible is re ed. PS3 would likely have been my console of choice no matter what, since God of War and Ratchet & Clank are two of my favorite franchises, but I'm glad I got the opportunity to buy a relative's 60G launch console with full compatibility.

I suppose Sony is banking on the fact that everyone buying a PS3 likely has a PS2 already, but if I didn't already have game loyalties the decision to remove backwards compatibility from newer models (when it existed at launch) would probably be enough to push me towards a 360. Just asinine.

As has been well do ented and known, the Ps3 even when it was extremely expensive was cheaper than an Xbox 360 when all the peripherals were added to it to make it equal a Ps3, and that still didn't include Blu-ray support.

The 360 didn't even get a form-factor redesign, they just lowered the price, so how is that better? What's a better deal? Getting an 80 GB fat one with a game and a blu ray movie or getting the 120 GB PS3 Slim with no game or blu ray movie? They're both $299. I just wonder if I did get a PS3, would I really need 120 GB of hard drive space? Wouldn't 80 GB be enough? The game is Little Big Planet and the blu ray movie is Wall-E. If I bought all the movie, the game, and the system separately, it would be around $390.

IMO MGS is the most overrated series ever, so no loss there.

God of War 3 will be awesome and it's the only reason I even think about buying a PS3 but one game does not justify getting the system.

GT5, the most feature rich driving sim, great if you like driving sims but I like my racing games more arcade style like need for speed and such.

Infamous, a good game but not a must play game.

Killzone 2 & Resistance, FPS are a dime a dozen and there are great FPS games on all consoles.
