It would be a nice little trade for Dallas.
Mavs will do some moves in the 2010 summer with Dampier non-guaranteed contract as main piece. Banks will then have an expiring contract and would be another asset to add at Dampier's contract.
I trust my beloved front office and Donnie. They seem to have learned that the team as was assembled wasn't good enough and are aggressively pursuing avenues to add talent to the team
, indicated by what I would consider a solid offseason.

If there isn't more to it then it's a salary dump for the Mavs plain and simple. Banks will be a factor as much as Carroll would be.
Neither guy would see PT....only garbage time. So if it saves the mavs some money then good for them
They are adding a 3 point shooter in Carrol, he will do good if he can get his shot down with them.
Was wondering this.
Also, correct me if I am wrong, aren't teams looking to clear cap space for next summer? Banks does not expire until 2011, correct?
Caroll could be used as a injury savior lol
They want another shooter since Kapono and Parker are gone; they want to trade Banks; it lowers payroll in the short term.
yes, but expiring contracts being thrown into trades are becoming more and more valuable these days. the mavs could make a big splash in free agency with a sign-and-trade, and expiring contracts are always welcome in those.
plus, they are making pretty much the same every year, just banks' contract comes off a couple years earlier. so why not?
