    After your initial statements in this thread, if you would have said that you did not believe the nation should have a military, that would have been consistent. It also would have been your opinion and I never try to change someone's opinion on issues such as these.

    You, however, said the nation needed a military. I will assume that you would agree that the nation's military should be of the highest possible quality.

    Well the nation's military can not be properly maintained if the ranks are only filled with those "dumb" enough to join in the current conditions. If only "dumb" citizens join during the current conflicts, what will the military look like when the nation is presented with a "justified" war?
