Which just happened to be enough on a day when the opposing team's strategy was to clog the backfield. Besides, some of the opportunities that Blanco created weren't taken advantage of by some of Mexico's less experienced players, who should have taken (grounding) shots on goal from afar on a day the pitch was wet. Even Aguirre was harping at players like Castro and Juarez for not taking advantage of the double and triple teams that Cuauhtemoc fielded all night....
Personally, I don't like the fact that Blanco instigates confrontations... he nevertheless managed to get into the Honduranians heads... to the tune of 3 opposing yellow cards.
In the end, you leave him in the game because he seems unaffected by the pressure of the game... No one else on Mexico's side would have had the confidence to score 'a simple' PK, one with so much weight...
