He pretty much does all he can with a very over-hyped team every season. I'm not sure if they are over-hyped or he does a poor job coaching them, but he's about the best thing they can get.
Maybe it's time for Beamer to start thinking about calling it a career.

Bama looked better on offense than I thought, and worse on defense. Need to soak it in more before I comment further
Mcelroy---Meh, 50% completion with a TD. Had a big pass late to help break it open. Will probably get better, but not top-flight.
This Ingram kid is the real deal. 150yds on 5.8 against the Hokie D is large. I doubt another back has those numbers against Va Tech all year.
Bama D gave up a 5.5AVG rushing to VTCH leading rusher. That will have to improve going into SEC play.
Bama is good. But the Hokie offense is re ed. I need to see more.
