It's not. I actually remember seeing him do this sesame street bit back in 1999. I was babysitting my younger siblings and just about hit the roof when the Admiral walked onscreen next to the Count lol. Good memory right there!
Here a few pics from my collection:

Nice pictures alamo50! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Alamo50! Great pics.
I would really love to meet D-Rob someday. I will never forget the first Championship in 1999... I was soooo happy for him to win it all he deserved it so much. Him going out as a champ in '03 was also a great thing. Good times.
I like this one with myself ^^

Eh, every player goes through bad times. Makes the good times that much sweeter
This pic is from that playoff series after Hakeem was so mad that David beat him out for the award that he made a point of 'taking it' to David, IIRC.
I have wondered this year if Kawhi might have the same reaction to Curry being named MVP this year (if it happens) and if both teams meet in the playoffs.
David deserved MVP that year. The Spurs were 5-1 vs the Rockets that season, the Spurs were 1st in the Midwest Division (the Rockets were 3rd) with a crappier roster, and David was much more efficient than Hakeem that year (while Hakeem had slightly better stats in some areas, David's advanced stats and efficiency were far better). That gif is the result of a very bad team matchup that allowed Houston to triple team David on nearly every possession while Robinson had to guard one of the best post players of all time one-on-one on the other end.
As for pics, I like this one:

Oh, believe me, I agree with you entirely that Robinson deserved every bit of it. I certainly didn't intend to imply otherwise. What I was noting was the TDomination's post regarding some better and some lean times for all players, including Robinson.
I was really more interested in Hakeem's reaction to David winning it than anything else, because it was such a motivator for Hakeem...and wondering if Kawhi would/will be similarly motivated this year if (as is likely, according to pundits), Curry is the shoe-in for MVP.
tbh Robonson didn't have a good enough team around him to win a le before we landed Cuckan
