Michael Scott has no balls and no spine. He completely allows Jim to manipulate him and sure enough, power-hungry Jim has now seized 1/2 of the branch manager's duties which partially demotes Michael from manager to co-manager. Pretty sad for a guy who spent 15 years of his life working for that company and is now Jim's puppet.

Jim is an asshole.

I agree that Jim's kind of a bag. All the characters on the American show are pricks except for Pam. That's one of the reasons I like the original version better. The British character Jim is based on (Tim) is a truly nice guy. Even Gareth (the character Dwight is based on) isn't an asshole, but just someone who says things without thinking.

It was an alright episode. Conflict between Jim and Micheal. It felt like the entire cast and writers were just looking forward to writing this episode.

Michael is by far the biggest prick on the show, and you forgot Dwight and Andy.

There is a difference between people being a bit playful, who like joking around (ok maybe the jokes go a little far) and real doudebags. Jim never tries to hurt people, even the people he does not particulary care for.

I don't know; some of the stuff Jim pulls on Dwight is pretty low (like the fake FBI meetings). I hope they bring Jan back in the mix. I loved the episode when Michael threw the baby shower for her kid that he kept calling Ass Turd (instead of Astrid).

Jan is a nut case, she fits right in there. I hope she comes back too.
