KBP writes (using a different screenname) in another message board in which I participate. For the inquiring minds, he wrote 2 posts about the game:

These games have nothing to do with growing the sport or expanding the game. It's unreal that NBA fans think that. These games are marketing 101 and nothing more. They are intended solely to keep the NBA marketing intact that people in the US believe. The marketing that the NBA is a quadrillion times better than the Euroleague and sure enough people in the US believe it.

This game was just like the Panathinaikos-Houston game two years ago. The refs were clearly instructed to hand the game to the NBA team. So it is very smart that the NBA not broadcast these games. The next game is being broadcast so the refs will have to be slightly more fair, although they will still call the game game 80/20 for the Cavs.

The NBA will NEVER in a million years agree to a world cup game.
