how the is OU still ranked? wtf is that
That's just how the SEC is. A lot of parity and defense. LSU in '07 and Florida in '06 had a bunch of close calls against "mediocre" teams and represented themselves well in the championship games. The only case of a team blitzing through the SEC was last years Florida.
THis isn't like the Big 12 where everyone but OU/Texas blow and there's no defense whatsoever.
I want to know what the BCS computers are smoking. Iowa, despite struggling to beat a bunch of nobodies, are ranked #1 by the computer polls. WTF??
It's called strength of schedule holmes
and theirs is slated to be ranked sixth overall

really? the conference that has a stranglehold on recruiting in the deep south is the best conference?
'ts good ta know
Maybe if your conference drew all its athletes from a single state (big12-texas) there would be more of a dropoff in talent from team to team.
The whole "Let's rank all SEC teams high every season no matter what"
is a relatively new phenomena. And with this awesome CBS contract with announcers that pimp the conference left and right to keep them ranked human-high, combined with coaches who are now bold enough to call BULL on your ty officials giving important games to the top dawgs, I think this SEC overhypedness is actually helpful in our eventual quest to destroy the BCS and instill a playoff.
Yeah, those teams like Arkansas State, Iowa State, and Northern Iowa are real strong. And when you're barely beating most of them (Iowa State was the only comfortable win), that should factor in, too.
Scoffing me? Do some research . Their SOS is going to be about sixth overall. And Iowa State being their comfortable win actually helps them, with the way they have been playing lately.
Show me a link where I'm wrong, er.
The computers don't lie. They're high for a reason.

25 Mississippi 5-2
All of this is inevitably shaping up for a UT/SEC winner showdown, as it should be. Iowa? Give me a break. Cincy would have been viable if their starting QB hadn't gone down. Let's just hope that UT/Bama/Fla keep winning so we can see the two best teams in the nation on the field for nat'l championship game. The rest are pretenders
