Hard to believe that LA is not in the top 5...

if there was a list of the most horribly run, assbackwards, most unqualified elected officials city it would be LA. Here is how you win any election take your last name, whatever it maybe, for example Villar, Mexify it, to something like
Villaraigosa, then win every election no matter how many telemundo chicks you , or how many times you failed the bar.

While I agree L.A. is a poorly run city, your logic for the last name doesn't really make since because Villar is pretty much a Hispanic name in its own right to "Mexify" it to an uncommon last name like Villaraigosa would be redundant. Don't see nothing wrong with banging some of those Telemundo chicks--they're pretty hot. But yeah, the mayor is a .

Back on track: The reason Portland is the 3rd safe city is because the majority of the city is waiting for their parade...

Villaraigosa sounds more Hispanic than Villar , even if Villar is Hispanic to begin with.

Just like Spelling your last name GOMEZ is more Hispanic than spelling it GOMES , perception is reality

you dont see a problem with banging telemundo chicks, i do, when they are assigned to cover the mayor and are supposed to report the news in an unbiased way. Instead they tell the telemundo audience, many of which only get their news from telemundo becuase they only speak spanish, that the mayor is doing a great job, its a Conflict of interest.

The Portland, Ore., metro area, which boasts the lowest crime rate, places third.
There's a reason for that. The police are so innefective, that so many people gave up on reporting crimes. When it comes to domestic violance or assault, unless there is a clear assalent, the victim takes a chance of being hauled away because Oregon law requres the polifce to arrest someone for assault. Then on top of that, many of the police are thugs themselves, and people don't trust them.

First off, I am no supporter of Villaraigosa because of his policies. Nor do I reside in L.A., so I really am not sure I care if he likes to bone reporters from Telemundo...Take this post for what it is worth...

However, I am going to have to say you should refrain from making an opinionated rants about the guy and the city he is Mayor of, because you are wrong when it comes to claiming; "Mexify your name and you'll become mayor in L.A." When he is the first mayor of Mexican-American (Hispanic) decent since the 19th century (18th in case you didn't know). So, in essence, you're incorrect when you first posted your rant.If you need further factual evidence in regards to the discrediting of your initial post read the link. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/18/na...ngeles.html?hp or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayor_o...es,_California

Mayors of Los Angeles since 1872 have included the likes of James K. Hahn and Richard Riordan. Even an African-American (Tom Bradley) was mayor between 1872-2005 (the gap between the last Hispanic mayor and Villaraigosa). So, it really doesn't matter if your name is Villar, Villaigrosa, Gomez or Gomes, because being Latino doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be mayor of Los Angeles.

Well, since your rush to judgement really sounded foolish, I'll stop there. Because it will be pointless to argue the fact that if you expect unbias reporting from ANY one source of media, you're going to be waiting a lifetime. It is impossible to have no biases when everything reported elicits different responses from all of us. There is way too many influences that come into play. Is that fair? No. In all honesty, I've stopped watching the news on any major channel and have tried to find a mul ude of sources so I can at least have all sides covered. He is a politician and the majority of politicians that we are exposed to have some kind of skeleton residing in the closet...okay...I'm done haha.

first off homeboy my first post was a joke, i don't come to a spurs forum to talk politics.

second two wrongs dont make a en right, so just becuase fox news is biased, its ok for telemundo chick to tell everyone the mayor is awesome, while giving him a handjob under the table?

third. why the are your comparing mayors from the past, did you take in account the Hispanic population growth???

percentage change in population of Hispanics from 1980 to 1990 is +62 percent, from 1990 to 2000 is +28.3
    http://www.laalmanac.com/population/po19.htm

so back in 1977, and 1985 and all those other years there wasn't a majority or plurality for Hispanic residents in LA. so go check that wiki link you gave me an see how as the percentage of total population of Hispanics rises, see how it correlates to the number of votes a Hispanic mayoral candidate gets.

I dont know if you think im one of those old people that says "this country use to be so great" and blame things on forgeirners im not,

but you tell me why the dude took his wifes last name?
was it becuase he loved her soooooooooooo much, so much to then cheat on her. Telling me that one of the major reasons he was elected was not becuase he was mexican is incorrect.

I hate all politicians, black, white, mexican, jupiteranian, it doesnt matter. government gets in the way of progress.

btw you're on the hatelist now
