Some people don't have a choice if they want to drive man. When I first started driving at the age of 21 and had to get full coverage, my insurance was $450 a month. And I checked everywhere!! $450 was actually the cheapest that I found. I guess I could had brought a used car and went with liabilty. but even then they were talking about the low to mid 3's. Some people can't get around that. I am 30 and I STILL pay more than you in insurance. $240.

I had a two door Cavalier. But I was getting those kinda figures for just about anything that required full coverage. the car I have now a Galant is considered a Sedan, and like I said I still pay more than you do. No accidents. I don't get tickets so....

I thought 16 was a good age when I started driving but now that my oldest daughter is 15 I think 18 is better.

I think that kids should be required to have a permit for a longer period of time. So allow kids to get a permit at sixteen but m make it so that kids cannot get a liscense until they are at least eighteen.

Also, require everyone under 21 to have a permit for a year before they can apply for a liscense.
Driver's ed can teach you the rules of driving but only experience makes you a great driver.

Kids are often too easily distractable and are very excitable and would benefit from the exercise of having to responsibly and consistently work towards their liscense.

Isn't it much more difficult to get a liscense over in Europe? If so, it would be interesting to compare the rate of accidents their against the rate of accidents in the states.

No question something has to be done in the teaching of the rules of the road. No one understands a yield sigh they all think its a stop sign. On top of that, it seems more people are just s driving as well. Pulling out in front of traffic. Pulling over into the next lane without a turn signal (which would fall in the above category as well).

It literally seems like people who get licenses still have zero clue how to drive.
