There's no arguing that Pau is a good player. Really no room for arguing about another player, but since you mentioned it.....
Whether or not Pau's much better than Marc this year, we'll have to wait and see.
I don't remember quoting myself. Ah well.. I'd take Dirk, but it's a pretty damn close gap.

The Gasol for Brown trade was just like the Spurs getting Wade for Udoka.
Players that without a question are better than Pau right now:
Lebron, Wade, Nobody else. And I could even make a case for Pau > Wade right now.
The thing about the Gasol for Brown trade is that it's so full of bull it won't even happen in fantasy basketball

I was very impressed watching Gasol last night. He has some great post moves. Even when Amare managed to stay in front of him, he'd do a bunch of dream moves and shoot a turnaround or even fade a bit on occasions. No one can guard that without getting physical which you can't do on their home court without fouling out in short order.

I would agre with those that argue dirk he Is the better all-around player ...
BUT
i do think Pau's game as a true pivot or post player ...is more condusive to winning ...
and points in the paint are much better barometer for post-season success ...
All that said... Dirk doesnt have Kobe or Phil ...
and Dirk has taken his teams further as the leader than Pau has ... just saying.
If you consistently lead your team to epic failure that talking point ceases to be valid.
The concept of a team leader is completely subjective. Pippen shouldn't be penalized just because he played next to Jordan. While Dirk shouldn't be rewarded for underachieving with a tailor-made squad every year.

Kobe still impressed me a lot more than Gasol last night.
Dirk is not the better allaround player. Not even close. He's a better shooter/scorer. Thats it.
