Anderson was 21st pick in draft. Bonner was 45th. So Anderson SHOULD be doing twice as good as Bonner, right?

Last year he was .393% in FG and .36% in 3pt. Bonner's career avg. is .476% and .409%

But the biggest difference is that, like many other players you could compare to Bonner, they play on different teams.
Biggest difference is one actually offers something other than 3pt shooting to the outcomes of the games.

That's the point I'm driving home, is Ryan Anderson proves you can have a guy who can spread the floor but can still do other things such as rebound the basketball. He shows that it is possible to stand out on the 3pt line a good majority of the time like Bonner does, but still find time to corral 7 offensive rebounds (something Bonner has never done, or never will).

    Ryan Anderson's statline last night.

    26 mins, 8-14 (3-3 from deep), 10 boards (7 offensive), an assist, a steal, and 20 points.

This guy was phenomenal last night, crashing the offensive glass and spacing the floor for the magic. He scored a variety of ways and played good solid defense.

This is the type of play the spurs need (but will never see) from Matt Bonner.
I wish you would have brought this up earlier this week. Pop could have read about this during the 4-day break and had time to do something about this! Now, they have already flown to Salt Lake City.

Actually he has, but then again, it's just facts, what do they mean in the face of a proper moan.

My point is that if Popovich is steadfast on starting a big that can shoot from long range to spread the floor, find one that can also REBOUND the basketball and play defense.

Obviously, they do indeed exist out there, and are reasonably priced.
Then suggest one oh great one. And if you can call the FO of the team the other player is coming from and let them know this has your stamp of approval, that would be great also.

    Three times, actually.

You may proceed with the rest of your rant.

    Looks like:

    Against Chicago, 1/17/2009: 7 (Offensive Boards) / 4 (Defensive Boards) / 12 (Points)

    Against Atlanta, 12/10/2008: 7 / 6 / 9

    Against Atlanta, 12/31/2006: 7 / 4 / 8

Great, let's trade Parker for Anderson.

Did we ever had the chance to have this Anderson guy, via draft, reasonable trade or free agency? If not, I don't see the point of this thread.

It's like starting a thread saying that "Rasheed Wallace is everything Matt Bonner is not."

Ponder, may be its because of the team concept of defense. Bonner stays mainly on the perimeter on the offensive and goes back quickly for defense to deny fastbreak points. He can't get many offensive rebounds playing like that. On defense, he was most often with TD who grabs most of the rebounds. Meantime, trust Coach Pop. He may be masking what the team real strength is to muddle the opposition's preparation against us, while also incorporatring the new addition in the process.

Good game for Anderson. The 2-14 (1-11 3p) performance in his previous game wasn't.

It was rumored the Spurs were very interested in him. For obvious reasons, who was picked higher by the Nets. So who knows.

Yeah, they're reasonably priced if you can draft at #21. Pull your head out of your ass. The Spurs haven't had a pick that high since they wasted that #1 pick on some guy named Duncan in '97.

Funny how the guy the OP was touting as being all-around better than Bonner has less rebounds, assists, blocks, and a lower FG%.

Hopefully the OP has got his premature ejaculation problem under control.

Anderson has a higher scoring average, but takes 9 shots per game to Bonner's 6 while outscoring him by 2 points/game.

Boo Hiss!! You're not a true fan if you question a Spur.
Evidently you never read the first post in this thread.

Do you actually agree that Anderson is a better overall player than Bonner?
