It's called a shooting slump, if you've ever played with shooting as your best weapon (I'm below 6 feet lol) you'd understand.

He'll get it back, just give it time
dude his played for 6 games now...

we cant afford to have a guy who turns up every eclipse only....

His minutes are getting all yanked around as is his general role on the team. Give Pop time to figure out how he wants to use Mason and give Mason time to adjust to that role. He's not exactly killing us out there, and we know he can be useful, so patience is needed and appropriate in this situation, I think.

Dude is in a slump, I still feel confident that its going in when he takes a wide open shot...he needs to keep shooting. He has too much range and his shot is too wet for him to continue shooting this bad. Not his biggest fan, I completely ripped him for his dissapearance in the playoffs last year but shooters go through slumps he'll be fine. Only a matter of time before they start falling.

Same with Dice, if any of yall saw him play with Detroit yall know that his 15 footer has always been money. It hasnt been falling here consistantly but its only a matter of time. He's too good of a shooter.

Bonner is a good example, was completely bricking everything until a few started falling against Toronto.

His offense isn't in dire demand anymore, but..............

Mason is still valuable to keep around, especially once those big games where he showed a knack for singlehandedly affecting the outcomes.

I think he's good insurance to have around for Bogans and Manu.

I like him coming off the bench w/ Bonner for a shot of scoring. Sure they both play terrible defense but if they can heat up at the right times they can extend leads. Course that goes w/out saying that if they both are bricking they can lose leads... but that's when Pop should go with Finley.

He's in a slump and has to shoot his way out of it. I think you can never have too much firepower and there will be games when Spurs run into scoring droughts and Mason would be one of the first options.

Mason needs to go. He will always be the kind of player that even when hot from the 3, will give it back at the other end with his turnstile defense.
    That's B.S.

Yes, he's a bit one dimensional in offense, but so are many other Spurs players. He's a specialist and probably one of the best a getting up a 3 point shot while being crowded. The Spurs already have a lot of players that can create offense, we don't need any more. What we need are specialists.

It looks like he lacks confidence in his shot. Talking about ego.....he has none right now I wish he had his swagger back.

Roger Mason should limit his shot then focus on his passing, he had some good pass a while ago.

Don't think Mason has an ego problem. He just can't hit a shot right now. Unfortunately for him, he needs to hit shots if he wants minutes.

A small silver lining for Mason tonight though, 4 assists and only 1 TO as Hill's backup PG tonight............
This. I thought he looked pretty sharp overall. His D was fairly solid as well. Unfortunately most posters only remember the cold shooting. There's a bit more to the game than that.

In my book he gets a pass. He has been placed in situations and played in a position he never played before. Now he is caught in a situation where rotations are being experimented with and him having the possibility of being the third option off the bench.

His defense isn't as bad as some make it to be and his shooting slump now is probably more of a heat check to try and prove he belongs on the team.

I for one would hate to see him go if that were to happen. He's a prototypical Spurs player and stand up guy. I have faith for him to settle down and succesfully contribute in the role he eventually secures.

Roger Mason shouldn't play ahead of Boguns or Hill, or Hairston imo, but i think if he can be good if he plays with a Duncan/Ratliff, perhaps Duncan/McDyess (McDyess has been average thus far on D), that way there's back up when the guy he's guarding inevetably gets by him. he shouldn't be in there with Blair or Bonner. too much liability

So Finley gets ripped and Mason gets a pass? Both are put in situations that they shouldn't be in.

The only thing that I've really seen missing from Roger's game is his jumper. He's making good decisions when he's running the point, he's defending pretty well and he's giving good effort. His jumper's gonna come back at some point.

He is playing really poorly. He can't get that ball to Manu soon enough (Manu had some awful passes last night though). Trade him for AI, haha. The salaries match I think.

he is not making good decisions at PG. he's making decent slightly crappy ones and we've learned from last year that he can't handle that position.

and enough with the "spoiled fan" crap if it doesn't have to do with the craptacular turn out at the ATT Center. Pop sure as is gonna hold Mason accountable for sucking and fans are too, that's what we do.

    He's expendable...

Won't hurt the Spurs if he's traded.

I don't worry about his slump. My biggest problem with Mason Jr is his pathetic D. I thought he would show some improvement from last year playoff but it's still the same.
