Most beautiful beaches on Earth. Fresh crystal clear blue water. Powder white sand for a hundred miles in each direction...
But only for 3 months out of the year (Late June, July, August, Early September). Hence the other condo on the Pacific West Coast...
Also, Lake Michigan borders 3 other states...

Where in MI have you been? Detroit isn't Michigan. Lakes Huron/St. Clare/Erie are bona fide nasty. But Lake Michigan (and Superior) are crystal clear blue water. And the beaches of Lake Michigan are all powder white, particularly in the Ludington area, but also Muskegon, Traverse City, and even in Indiana...

I'd probably live like Matt Bonner - get a decent house and car but nothing fancy, I'm talking around $200,000 combined. Put the rest of the cash in savings so you can set up a nice retirement plan.
