    Especially given this...

    SAS 9-7
T Park, care to tell us how smart Eric Musselman is.

New stat... we are 59-0 when leading with no time left.

The corrected stat should read the Spurs are 40-5 in games decided by 10 or more points. I checked it out. This is an accurate stat.

What that means is the Spurs won over half their games by 10 or more and thereby corresponds with leading the league in point differential +/- at 7.8 ppg.

(T Park, that's probably what Musselman meant to say).

So all this really means is the Spurs lost by more than 10 points only five times.

I thought T Park stumbled on a great stat. Guess not.

All 5 were road losses. Only 1 of those 5 double digit losses (@SEA the 2nd game of the season) were pre-Duncan's injury. The other 4 (@NY, @DEN, @DAL, and @MIN) came after Tim's last ankle sprain in DET.

Well, we are 40-0 in games decided by 10 pts. or more (unless I did my math wrong).

We've won 19 games by less than 10 points.

(I didn't bother going into by what margin we lost by in our 23 losses)

EDIT: and as usual, I'm too slow...

Well, it's not a bad stat. When we've lost, it hasn't been big. And since half those losses came after Tim was injured... then that's really good.

Of course, being 19-18 in games decided by less than 10 points isn't really good...

The Spurs don't get blown out. I guess that's a good stat too.

    Nice try anyway T.

T Park, at least you were correct on the record and 10 points. It was just the "or less" that got messed up by someone. Not a bad faux pas and it got me, too.

I mean, just a little common sense should have made you call BS on the 40-5.

Off the top of my head, I know of the Spurs losing to Memphis x2, Utah x2, Houston x2 all less than five points.

That's the point, you don't have to be very smart at all to remember those losses.

"Average margin in the NBA this year was 10.31 points per game"

    ??? but this:

    http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortab...able1.html#top

... says Spurs are best in PPG diff with +7.8, and ATL is worst -9.70, meaning everybody else is in between.

Where do you get 10.31 PPG diff for whole fricking league?

Hey, T_Porc, go kiss Musselman's ass. He's your kinda guy.

    10 PPG isn't a close game, it isn't a blowout, it says .

What's the Spurs' record in close games, say 5 PPG diff? ... which is probably the kind of game the playoffs will be.
