A&M better watch out. They are gonna start losing possible recruits to SMU.
It's possible. But more likely, imo, is smu stealing recruits from tekk, baylor, Houston and tcu. A&M gets good talent yearly, they just piss it away.

But I know you're excited...and you should be! Jones should have gotten coach of the year...his performance was nothing short of amazing. I'd be excited to see smu's next 2-3 years.

Stealing recruits from Tech would make me happy. Leach deserves it. We actually already have a wave of people on SMU's boards calling for Tech commits and recruits to choose SMU instead. haha

Plus, SMU's first game in 2010 is at Lubbock (then home vs TCU), so we have an early chance to see just how good we can be.

SMU will get some talent. They'll find kids that live in the eastern side of the Metroplex that want to stay home and not go to Lubbock or Waco, or kids that want to play WR and catch a ton of balls and not play DB for a B12 school. Even beating out nationally relevant TCU for a recruit is going to help.

They aren't going to be the SC of Dallas anytime soon, but I'd be real happy if I was a Pony fan right now. Almost every kid on campus wasn't born before they got the death penalty.

Well, you certainly schooled us. I guess we'll just have to settle with our sub-A&M talent setting a school record for points against A&M, winning an average of 10 games a year while playing in the SEC, winning our 4th straight bowl and 7 of 9, 3 BCS bowls, 2 BCS wins, 2 SEC les and 3 straight top 5 recruiting classes.

Damn, how I wish I was an Aggie

A&M scored on themselves; I'm talking about one game and one season. Aside from that, there's no doubt Georgia is a great program with great tradition of winning. They've been far more successful than A&M has been for at least the last 10 years. But, I think Sherman is on the right track. As has been said a million times, A&M has too many resources and gets too much talent not to get their act together.

And Sherman has much more talent that UGA has, don't forget that.

If A&M doesn't get careless on kickoff coverage after their first TD, then completely loaf their punting, Georgia goes scoreless into the third.

A&M put Georgia in position for two easy easy touchdowns that Georgia would have had no chance to get otherwise...A&M was winning the field position battle when it was tied for almost an entire half.

and it goes further...why is that so hard for some people to understand CBF?

Agreed, but tied for a half doesn't equal more talent on the field. As I said multiple times, A&M outplayed UGA in the first 28 mins of the game and UGA outplayed them 27-7 in the last 30 mins. How the heck did UGA get the chance to block those kicks and punts? Could it be that their defense without coaches stopped all that talent A&M had? If A&M doesn't get careless on kickoffs they may have beat Texas too. Does that mean that they were more talented than UT?

The only issue I had was that it was stated that A&M was much more talented than UGA on the field.

How hard is that to understand? This statement

A&M is so much more talented than Georgia...its disgusting to lose like that.
    is completely wrong.

The more I think about this, the more delusional I think the A&M poster is. A&M led the game for 11 seconds and then tied it in the 3rd for 3 mins. A more talented team responds when the other team scores. A more talented team makes big plays when its down. A more talented team doesn't let the other team run off 30 straight points against them. A more talented team finds a way to win when they don't have defensive coaches and their passing game sucks. UGA also beat an Arkansas team that rolled A&M up and down the field. Did Arkansas have more talent than UGA, too?

I'm guessing that UGA has less talent than Kansas St and Colorado too since they put whipping on this super talented team.

All I hear from you is that despite the superior talent, the A&M coaching staff sucks so bad that graduate assistants (that's who was coaching the special teams since that coach got fired) out-coached them. A&M also managed to get beat badly, not close. I might consider shutting down the football program if that is the case.

Have fun with your moral victories and awesome talent. Until the excuse factory starts up next year.

It would imply that A&M has a supremely ty coaching staff.

Apparently worse than 25 year old graduate assistants.

This argument is old. UGA won, convincingly. If it makes UT fans feel better about their upcoming game against Bama to think UGA is less talented than A&M, so be it. We'll probably be hearing the same arguments after Jan 7 for them too. If it gives A&M fans hope for next year, good luck.

I was just stating what jgw is obliquely implying, even as he states Sherman is headed in the right direction. I think it's clear the better team won. A&M always gives UT their best shot, any other game they can be extremely inconsistent.

man, this is really eating you up. How does a more talented team get rolled up? Simple, they are very young and inconsistent.

Not necessarily. It implies they are very young and mistake prone. When they keep it together they can ride their talent past teams and keep up with good ones. When they implode, they can't beat anyone. They are the youngest team A&M has ever had...and through that very inconsistent.

A&M made costly mistakes and UGA capitalized on them. Simple. The aggies have done this all year and it comes with having a very young team. The defense was shutting down UGA for most of the game, but clearly got demoralized with the lack of offensive production and special teams mistakes.

The better team won. Kudos to the Georgia coaching staff for keeping the team focused following the coaching changes.
