Duncan looked weak in the paint.

i blame denver for coming in to our house and playing inspired basketball...they went toe to toe with our Spurs and took the 8pt dagger out of their hearts and laughed their way to the lockerroom at halftime....

i blame denver for playing fast tempo baksetball and suckering our team into running and taking quick shots when taking our time would have been better....

i blame denver for matching our defensive intensity, and quite frankly hitting shots when it counted most...i.e. hitting some tough contested jumpers when our spurs were missing 5ft chip shots....

    really?

i don't blame anybody. it was a hard fought game. time to let the nutz drop and lets see who the big dogs are...

I think the Nuggest don't give a flying about Wed's game.

They came here, right into the teeth of the Spurs dominating season home record, with one objective: steal HCA.

Having done that, a Nuggets loss Wed night is without consequence. The Nuggets will no doubt think they go back to Denver in excellent position to go up 3-1 before coming back to SBC.

So don't nobody go getting excited if the Spurs blow out the Nuggets by 30 pts Wed night. The Nuggets have already effectively "won" the 2-game series @SBC. A Spurs win on Wed night will do nothing to undo it.

ie, the Wed night game is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT to the Spurs, it's their stay-alive game, than it is to the Nuggets.

Damn right, it is the season for the Spurs. Nuggets could be very loose and play great or lack intensity and lose big. Hope for the latter.

That's the key, the Nuggets will play loose, and that's always dangerous.

Spurs are on thin ice and better take care of business early on Wednesday, because if Denver looks at the scoreboard in the 4th and it's close, they'll go for the kill, and the Spurs could be vacationing very early.

As weak as Duncan was on offense late, I was more concerned with his rebounding on defense. Yeah, he had eleven boards, but he also allowed a lot of second chance opportunities for the Nuggets (that goes for Horry and Nazr as well).

I think a healthy Duncan prevents a lot of the second chances that allowed Denver to stay close until the fourth.

Exactly what smeagol said, even if the Spurs go 0-3 and Tim isn't healthy, they'll win this series!

In my opinion Nazr and Gino played the best.
However, everyone in the game yesterday had room for improvement in some area- be it better ball handling, making free throws, and more aggression on boards etc.
When you consider that a few less failures in any of those areas might have equaled a win, I don't see how we can justly blame any one person for the loss.

Name Min FGM FGA 3GM 3GA FTM FTA OR DR AST PF ST TO PTS
    Bruce Bowen 33 0 1 0 0 1 2 1 6 1 3 0 0 1

Bruce has to help generate some offense as well, playing 33 minutes and only taking ONE shot is not going to help open things up for Tim.
