I found it amusing that one of the big compliments for Matsui during the spring was his ability to draw a walk more often. It's fine to draw walks but being second in the lineup I would rather see more base hits than staring at pitches trying to draw walks.

I like how Drayton credits Ed Wade for building the Phillies championship team. I guess he didn't realize Wade was fired from the Phillies for bull trades and signing aging players to large contracts. Ed Wade is as a GM and the 15 million dollar deal they gave Lyon is proof.
And Drayton is as an owner....He puts them on a budget, because he allowed spending on unnecessary postions, and allowed the farm system to be gutted.

Then on top of everything else, our homerific sportstalk station tried to rationalize things by bringing up the fact that we aren't the worst team in baseball because we have "A" win.
The Astros did have a tough first 3 series. They started with the Giants, Phillies and then the Cards. That's no excuse though, they could have won at least 1 game.
Apparently not. Dodgers are looking like they will win. Still, only 3-4 and 2 choke jobs by the pen.
