Time to vaporize the .
It can really be tough when its like, Wednesday night at say, 7:25, isn't it? I mean, unless you're living a life that is non-stop thrills like Anthony Bourdain. The trick for me is; since I have dealt with a ton of loss in my life...seeing people close to me die and other forms of loss, I have came up with the idea that whatever may happen during say, a weekday, will be fun no matter what it is. I don't need much to keep me entertained though, so even sitting with my gf and conversing can make a day worthwhile.
Long term... pursuing a career doing things that I really love and that genuinely interests me.
Short term... sex, video games, and spending time with the people I care about.
Sex while playing video games could be a longterm solution!!!
Actually... funny you mention that. I'd always wanted a volcano, but couldn't, well wouldn't, afford it. $500? WTF is that ?
A buddy of mine, just the other day had a stroke of genius and bought himself a Black & Decker adjustable heat gun for 35 bucks(200-1000 degrees F). Just using that to light the bong works like a charm. A of a lot better than some of the piece of vaporizers I've tried previously. Anyways, I'll have one of my own within a couple days. Good suggestion in general though.

waking up
couple of years ago dets whott i would have saiddddd
there are a lot of things that get me through the week. on a day to day basis, i've got to go with family. that's the main thing. then there's finishing another day so the weekend is one day closer. what makes it easier is if there's a big game coming up or some kind of event. the holidays are great because there's so much to look forward to but when it's all over...like now...it does get a little depressing. what has really helped these last two years is my daughter. she's almost going to be 2 and she does something every single day and wows me and just thinking about her makes me smile. she's pretty much what gets me through every day.

The day I dont wake up.![]()
Such a good answer...
Man. Until about 2 years ago I played so much ball and looked forward to it more than anything on earth. We tried to keep the group together after high school and made it about six years, but people grew up and got other to do. I'll be lucky if I play more than a meager handful of times in 2010 (sniff).
Treasure that while you still can.
Taking a shower when I wake up, my first cup of coffee in the morning, making job offers (and them accepting, of course), seeing my dog when I get home from work, and sleeping.
What about you, B2B?
Playing video games, reading about new video games, jogging in the park in my neighborhood, spurs games if they're playing, going to my college classes, playing with my dogs, talking to family, and finally getting super tired and going to sleep in my bed.
Life is an adventure. Some days are good. Some days aren't. Things are always changing. I try to enjoy each day as it unfolds. It's not always possible, but I try.
i broke a pipe that way... haha. well cracked it. heated it up way too long. haha.
Leaving the gym at night after a rough workout. When I get off in the morning taking in a few shots of Tequila. Best parts of my day easy.
I don't need/want a lot of hubbub in my life. I crave quiet and solitude most of all. Crazy mornings getting everyone out of the house and then I can do my own thing at my own pace---housework, taking my dogs for walks, lunch with friends or even going back to bed and watching movies or reading all day. Then at 4pm it all changes because "they" come back and sitcom type shenanigans ensue until about 10:30pm. And suddenly it's over as fast as it began and I'm back to what I have looked forward to all day---peace and quiet![]()
But as far as a specific event that highlights my life I'd have to say it's my oldest son's basketball games. He's always played on his school teams (he's at Reagan High now) and plays year round on various club/AAU teams. I would crawl out of my deathbed to get to one of his games![]()
What keeps me going?
The people I love, getting to be with them. I love to read. I enjoy writing sometimes. I like chocolate. I like steak. I like cross s ch and knitting (though I've been on hiatus from both). I like just hanging out with SFIE. And the animals.
What keeps me going to work and slogging through on the bad days? Getting to keep our house and car and the little bit of extra for the things we enjoy - eating out, seeing movies, whatever.
And of course, trying to have a child. That takes up a fair amount of time and energy for me. I wish it were easier for us. I know the payoff will be worth it, if we can make it happen though.
Maybe it's different for me because I don't have to get up and go anywhere to work everyday, but I love life. I love hanging out and laughing about stupid stuff with timvp all day. I love reading books in bed, while timvp lays next to me working on the computer. I love writing and editing (most of the time). I love shopping for shoes...and stacking the boxes neatly on the shelves of my closet. I love experimenting with new eyelinerI love looking back at all the things we have accomplished and endured, and looking forward to a happy future.
Lame? Maybe in some people's eyes, but I treasure life. Sure sometimes sucky things happen, but overall it's fantastic.
