Barry Starting/Manu on bench > Manu starting/Barry on bench
Manu is good enough to play from the bench, Barry doesnt look like he can come off the bench like Manu can.
If starting means more minutes like today... then i dont see that logic.
Manu: 17 points in 18 mins
Barry: 16 points in 32 mins

I dont want to keep this Barry vs Manu thing because I also like Barry and I think he's a great reserve. But come on...
This game turned as piece of cake but i dont see Barry playing more minutes than Manu when we're in trouble.

, to make this different, I dont like TP taking 17 shots.

However, I do like Manu being well-rested going into Denver.

Hopefully, his ankle will be okay.

Crap, I just made an actual basketball post.

Nothing against Manu. I love Manu. He is one of my fav. players. Its about Barry. He just seems to play alot better when he starts, IMO. Regardless of the minutes he gets. Must be a mental thing. But Manu gets it done weather he starts or comes off the bench. Thats the point I was trying to make.

If Manu takes coming from the bench like he did, how many other All Stars would respond in that way? I really liked Popovic's answer when asked how Manu reacted

Actually, it speaks better of Manu and bad of Barry/Turkoglu, if a player needs to start to play good....hmm, well...

That's just it...it hasn't made a difference if Barry started or not all season...and he also hasn't needed to play with Parker or Duncan to play well.

That's why I am not that excited about this move being a permanent solution...I think it was just a case of Barry being forced to step up and doing so...like has all season long. But I don't think it's the solution to getting him to play like the Barry we thought we signed in the offseason.

The only times Barry's lead the team in scoring this season were when he came off the bench and Duncan was injured.

    So no, Barry's not Hedo.

But he's also not Steve Kerr...and what he hasn't responded to is sitting around at the 3 line doing nothing else.

He's better when he's a part of the offense and handling the ball some, and seeing as how he is a freak PCT shooter with great ballhandling skills...I cannot for the life of me figure out why in the the Spurs won't take advantage of that...

Did you see what they did with Manu last night?

Manu, not Beno, acted as the back up PG...why couldn't they do that with Barry?

Barry is not Hedo...Hedo was a choking who wanted to get paid and didn't care if he had to go to the worst team in the NBA to do it...

Hedo struggled off the bench because he thought it was going to hurt his chances for landing a big contract...

Barry is already getting paid...Barry came here to get a ring and he took less to do it.

What Hedo did is not what Barry did and that comparison continues to piss me off.

    2003-2004 NBA Season

Chris Ford (Sixers head coach last year) benched AI for 1 game.

Allen Iverson decided to not play at all...

what was so ironic was that two days later Tim Duncan came off the bench.

    No.

    That was exactly my point.

    I was contrasting their reactions.
