honestly, id rather see every dunk attempt missed as long as its original...than see something thats been done before.
try some new !
As long as dwight isn't in it with his stupid props it will be fine.

i actually think this is going to be one of the better ones in a while. Pretty good names in Nate, Gerald, Shannon. Wish that 4rth was Lebron or something though. I have a feeling this will be less prop based and more power dunk based, which is what I want to see.
good call. That almost put me to sleep.
this was beyond lame.
LeBron could have done the Shawn Bradley dunk from Space Jam and won.
I imagine Cubes put as little effort as possible into All-Star Saturday night. 100,000 fans in the biggest Stadium in the history of the planet >>>>>> dunk contest. Plus he had to rob the entire Wizard's franchise tonight as well. Very, very busy man.
Nate Robinson = worst slam dunk champion in history.
x 3.
The announcers are paid to be enthusiastic. But even they couldn't get up any fake enthusiasm.
That's how bad it wuz.
Barkley & some of those guys were trashing it.. was turrrrrrible this year.
Hahah, yah, come to think of it, them clowning on it was the best part of the Slam Dunk Contest![]()
Dunk Contest Sets New Record for Boredom
SportingNews
Do you like excitement? Do you like flair? Do you like charisma? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then you hated this year’s dunk contest.
Nate Robinson was the winner, although it’s arguable if that term is at all applicable to what transpired tonight. There wasn’t a single memorable dunk—finalist DeMar DeRozan got the only 50 for a windmill on a Sonny Weems pass off the side of the backboard. In a good year, that’s a 45 or 46.
The crowd was dead the entire contest, getting on its feet maybe once or twice. If you’re charitable, this was the dunk contest of a Vermont bed and breakfast: pleasant in its quaintness. If you’re mean, it was like a historical reenactment of a dunk contest from 1989.
Nate is now the first player to capture three dunk contest crowns, an accomplishment that should fit in well next to his retired summer league jersey. His best dunk was a toss off the backboard that turned into a two-hander … or at least I think that’s what happened (again, not very memorable).
The "Let Shannon Dunk" movement that helped get Shannon Brown into this year’s contest should also feel some shame, if only because Brown didn’t contribute anything to justify the groundswell of public support. Gerald Wallace was also quite poor, although his performance can’t be considered a letdown since he’s shown so little interest in the contest since being named as a participant.
This dunk contest was so bad that it makes you wonder where they go from here. We all want to see LeBron, but is there anything anyone could do at this point that would excite us? After all these years, it’s possible we’ve exhausted the number of dunks that are physically possible to do. There’s still hope, but the dunk contest now looks much less relevant than it ever has.
CBF with a home run of a thread. Almost a spur worthy prediction.
Prhahhps.
The ing WNBA event with the halfcourt shot was 10x more entertaining than this garbage.
Me too, and I have seen all of them except the 84 contest in Denver (which was supposed to be awesome).
lol. It really was.
The LA crowd was great too. Lots of people into it. The celebs were into it as well.
no doubt
iguodala got robbed two years ago, last year howard got robbed
this year it just flat out sucked
I tell you something guys, the efforts emitted by all those involved in the all-star game coupled with the lack of funds nba front offices face, pretty much guarantees the lock out is coming sooner than everybody expects. And this lock out will have some historic events attached to it....mark those words....
