big time
top defensive player in the state, Desmond Jackson
chalk him up on the bigboard
Some interesting nuggets:
**FB/LB Devon Hocutt of Killeen Ellison was not at Junior Day and has rescheduled for 2/27.
**WR Philip Payne (lack of playing time) and FB Antwan Cobb (injuries) have both left the football team.
**OL Marcus Hutchins of DeSoto was offered by the Texas staff today but did not commit because he's stated he'd like to take more time with his recruitment. USC has also offered him recently.
big time
top defensive player in the state, Desmond Jackson

Add two more to the list and one of them is HUGE:
ATH, Mykkele Thompson, San Antonio Stevens (6-1, 168)

DT, Desmond Jackson, Spring Westfield (6-1, 278)

Alabama fans thought they had this one in the bag. Arguably the best player in the state along with Malcolm Brown.
And another:
CB, Leroy Scott, South Houston (5-10, 190)

Best corner in the state (even though Sheroid Evans might be the best overall defensive back). I love this kid. Orangebloods has been reporting that he's told the Texas coaching staff that he wants a list of everyone that they're targeting (especially on the defensive side of the ball) so that he can assist in the recruiting process. They say he's -bent on making sure the best possible class is signed in 2011.
It's like fishing with dynamite. Here's the most valuable commitment of the day, IMO:
TE, M.J. McFarland, El Paso El Dorado (6-5, 235)
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footbal...cFarland-85503
Speaking of Sheroid Evans...he wants in on the fun as well. He's #12. Texas now has 3 of the top 5 defensive prospects in the state of Texas.
S, Sheroid Evans, Sugar Land Dulles (6-1, 185)

OL Sedrick Flowers of Galena Park North Shore was offered today but he decided to visit LSU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State before making a decision. Texas should hear from him in a few weeks and I think they're still in great shape with him.
would he be comparable to a Bret Robin?
david thomas was a running back at first?
CROFL at alabama thinking it could recruit Texas.
stupid ass saban, noone in texas recruiting thought for a second saban had a chance
he lacks ideal size
usually texas' corners are only good when they are 6'0"-6'2"
Scratch this. Marcus Hutchins called the coaching staff a little while ago and committed to the Horns. I assume the Texas staff projects him as an interior lineman.
OL, Marcus Hutchins, DeSoto (6-3, 254)

i LOV it

it wasnt so long ago these guys were going north to play in Norman Oklahoma

Everyone in attendance today received offers except for DE Nathan Hughes of Klein Oak. The impending commitment of DE Cedric Reed of Cleveland and the fact that DE Jermauria Rasco of Shreveport Evangel Christian showed up today probably had something to do with that.
No Offer

OL, Sedrick Flowers, Galena Park North Shore

LB Trevon Randle of League City Clear Springs didn't make it in to Austin after all. It appears as if he's rescheduled for the second Junior Day on 2/27.
So much for Malcolm Brown wantng to be in to commit first.
Stoops is going to have to start upping the payscale for norman players to 40-50K a year
his venables is going to get exposed without across-the-board 5 star talent on his defense
you all!!!
Longhorn recruiting is like Yankee spending, you should be ashamed that you follow it so closely and care so much.
I'll sum it up for you:
Every year, TU will get the best athletes from the best recruiting pool/state in the United States![]()
Brandon Williams commits to Baylor, Texas strikes out on the first RB recruit hopefully they can land one/hopefully three of the remaining Texas RB studs.

DB Kolby Griffin of Houston St. Pius X commits to TCU.

meh
wouldn't want someone named kolby on the team anyways
DT Quincy Russell of San Antonio Sam Houston was in Austin over the weekend and he also received an offer. I updated that in the post above about who has outstanding offers.

Orangebloods is reporting that RB Brandon Williams is still a possibility for UT's second Junior Day in two weeks. Needless to say everyone is shocked at the fact that he committed Baylor (of all places) without even visitng his dream school first (Texas). I'll keep you posted on what's being reported, but his verbal to Baylor is definitely not concrete.
F Brandon Williams, will these guys ever learn?
If he even considered going to Texas, why would you commit to baylor in feb of your junior year?
Green, brown and sims must be Cadillacing after this news

but i agree
Blue chip safety Avery Walls out of McDonough, Georgia will be flying into Austin tomorrow for an unofficial visit. I assume he will sit down with Mack and Muschamp (Georgia connection) and receive an offer. He's headed to the OU Junior Day this Saturday. If you haven't seen film on this guy, do yourself a favor and check it out. I can only imagine what this kid would look like under the tutelage of Muschamp.
