You're the sort of person who won't be leaving the house after forty because they're too scared of the world.
    Dumb, just plain dumb.

Article kind of sounds like sour grapes. Spurs would do that trade in a second. A trade of Howard for Butler is probably a wash, except that Howard is perpetually injured and Butler is not. But the key to the trade is Haywood. Even Buck couldn't really come up with a negative spin on this acquisition. It gives another 7 footer to throw on Tim and it allows Dallas to match up with L.A.'s bigs.

Will the trade guarantee the Mavs a championship? Does it make them the favorites? No. But it puts them up there with L.A. and Denver. It also makes the Spurs even less likely to compete for a le this year (even though Dallas could beat us even without the trade).

I thought this was a very poor, snarky article by a usually very good writer. What this would/would not do for the spurs is kinda irrelevant, what Haywood will do for Dallas is to be a very big upgrade over Dampier.

Butler may/may not be as big an upgrade over josh but it's certainly no worse and he has a mid-range driving ability that the mavs do not have on the roster. Josh used to do it but even when he did, he was unable to give up the ball when needed but forced the shot.

The mavs had only dirk/jjb who could get into the lane. Having your power forward be one of the few guys would could drive and dish was murder. If Caron can give them a person at the end of the game who can get to the line, it's a big upgrade over josh. Josh was a little too wild-ass to be trusted at the end of the game.

    Cuban's Finals come early — trade's impact
    Buck Harvey

ARLINGTON — Mark Cuban walked up, smiling as if he was dancing with 108,713 stars.

“Feels like a Finals game,” he said.

To him, it probably did feel that way. Dirk Nowitzki lost, and Dwyane Wade was the MVP.

    Great stuff.
