Wow.
Truly one of the disadvantages of picking up Euros for the team.
Almost every Euro who is good enough to play in the NBA is a star on his NT and feels an obligation to play.
Fixed.

I understand Tony wanting to play for the NT.
But playing year round is such a strain on the body... especially from Tony Parker whom so much is required from in terms of minutes played and production.
Eventually, something has to give.
I don't think it's a matter of lying. I think Parker, if he were healthy, would want to play. But when it comes down to it, and he reflects on this season, the injuries, his contract, etc., he probably won't play.
Trade Parker and watch the dominos fall. Manu will not be back and there is no way Duncan is going to be on board for a full re-build . . . Trade demand or early retirement. Bet on it.
The bricks of the foundation continue to fall apart.
Manu will be gone this summer.
TP will have pissed off the FO and orchestrated his own exit.
All that will be left is Duncan.
Oh well. It's been fun.
if spurs trade tp and let manu walk
I would want to trade duncan and completly rebuild
I found video from the team bus of Parker telling Pop he's planning on playing for the French national team this summer:

that . If he does play then its a total lack of respect for Tim. I get the national team thing, but when you so obviously owe the successes in your career to one player then you think you could stay at home a couple of summers to help him out.
I considered tony an "if the right deal comes along" trading asset before, now I don't see any reason we shouldn't try and use him, manu, and RJ to pick up a main cog of a new Big 3.
Damn the Spurs' bus looks so rickety. Holt really is a cheap ass.
Look at Manu, he's just looking straight ahead like nothing's happening![]()
MAybe thats just it.... This is what the end looks like. it starts slowly with one piece breaking then all the pieces start crumbling apart.
I have always wondered what the ending of a dynasty really looked and felt like "sigh" So this what Rome was like.
IF so, of a run though!
Dammit, not again Tony. Don't you ever learn?
I hope you're right.
I'll quote myself from another thread:
My theory on that is simple. Tony made all that noise earlier about not playing for the NT to get the Spurs to open negotiations on an extension. The Spurs said we'll talk to you in 2011 and so Tony sees no reason to take the summer off. Except for giving the Spurs the best chance to win next year, which is now clearly not his highest priority.
There's really no reason not to trade Tony this summer.
I think TP has a huge ego. I think he will play because he thinks he can handle it.
This has huge implications.
I think this is wishful thinking. The reason I say that is because everyone thought Manu would have "reflected" and made the right decision as well.
I just wonder how many more years of non-contention TD will put up with here.
I think TP is pissed and feels a lot less loyalty after his name got kicked around in trade talks.
Lets hope Georgie gets his first all star nod soon.![]()
Could very well happen.
I've always thought there were many parallels between the Duncan Spurs and the Atlanta Braves of recent history. Look at them now with Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones and a bunch of guys in Braves uniforms that no longer play like the Braves.
