But it doesn't say San Antonio Spurs on the jersey it just say Spurs, so again I ask, shouldn't it jus be Espuelas?
I don't think it is racist.

There are two things I will always associate with the decline of the Spurs post 2007 -- one is the "Los Spurs" jerseys and the other is a current member of the roster.
If it was true spanish it would las espuelas
Here we go again with these crappy ass jerseys! Don't do it Spurs, you hardly win when you were those ugly ass things!![]()
It's a matter of grammatical rules of the Spanish language, not of translation.
When you're actually referring to an object all alone ("sustantivo"), you need to add what is called an "artículo determinante". In this case, since we're referring to a feminine word and plural, the proper one would be "Las".
While some of these items have a parallel in the English language (Substantive, Definite Article), the rules are not the same.
The rules for this in Spanish are explained here (in Spanish): LINK
Translation between Spanish and English is not literal. As you translate you need to apply the grammatical rules of each language.
Al que se le occurió esta monstruosidad de "éne-bé-a" es un pendejo.
Agree about 'ene-be-a'...thats ing re ed.
As for 'Los Spurs' I dont mind that really, although I would prefer simply 'Espuelas' especially since you can keep the whole U as the Spur thing...Id buy that jersey.
Los Spurs or Los Lakers is how we name those teams. That's true.
But I never saw "The Spurs" in the jerseys.
San Antonio is a spanish name so use that name instead Los Spurs and it would be better. We use only San Antonio to refer the team a lot of times too.At least here in Spain. But I'm sure then NBA would put "El San Antonio" in the jerseys.
At any rate, my main beef was with éne-bé-a...
The rest was for the curious...
I guess it's going to be "Los Spurs" wether we like it or not...
I was thinking this was done with but dammit its back...
You're basically putting a Spanish article in front of an English word, that only has a gender because it's a proper noun. If it's a proper noun, like the name of a team, does it need an article? All of the Spanish Euroleage teams I can think of have corporate names, so I'm genuinely curious.
sons just be happy the nba didnt go with El SPurs
not this stupid again
This racist?! No.
Is it stupid? Yes![]()
Em eye see kay he why em oh you ass see.![]()
I am Black an when I play 2K10 those are the jerseys I use. I love them but if they offend their fans they should get rid of them. You'll should check into that!
So why don't one of you 'puter nerds make an Espuelas jersey for us to see what it would look like?
They should do that for all the teams
Los Espurs
Nueva Jork
Los Angeles... HEY WAITASECOND
Los Epaceros
Los Lobos (Timberwolves not the band)
Los Gatos de Bob
los angeles....that should say: los putos...then that would be cool...
The whole "latin nights" thing is kinda redundant/re ed, but I do love my "los Spurs" jersey. If they made a "Las Espuelas" one, it'd be even better!
Is there someone we could pe ion to have it changed to Las Espuelas? That would be cool. I bet they would even sell in other spanish speaking countries.
