No. He's got to be under contract when the injury occurs.
I think I can say without too much exaggeration that I wouldn't know anything about the business end of the NBA without your input over the years, man.

    Cheers

Nice Draft express article on how Butler's coming along.

    http://www.draftexpress.com/article/...dividual-3509/

Good to hear he'll be ready for someone's training camp if offered a spot.

Neither DX or nbadraft.net have this guy in their full mocks which I find strange. Surely someone will 'risk' a 2nd round pick on him. Assuming a return to health then how does this guy compare to the other bubble SF's we're looking at (Pointdexter, Robinson, Ebanks etc)??

Could do worse with the 49th, where's the downside?

I don't think SA's second rounder will make the roster this year. I see this as a draft and stash scenario. They have 7 guaranteed contracts, likely Splitter, a first rounder with a guarantee, and a crop of youngsters competing for what will likely be 4 spots.

If SA was to draft a college kid, it would have to be someone who could come in right away to the practice facility, work out with the players, go to summer league, and THEN show up at training camp. I don't think any less exposure could make the roster.

From the article(in case someone didn't read it):
Butler will be making his final pitches to teams in the final ten days leading up to draft night. He is scheduled to meet with The Thunder, Clippers, Trail Blazers and the Spurs, with a possible meeting with the Pacers also in the works.

Unless he is really damaged beyond repair from the injury, he has potential to be a contributor for somebody. At 49, if you get that, you're lucky.
