Spurs would have been sold to a richer owner had Scola signed with them instead of Rockets. Spurs only traded him to trim Jakie Butler's contract so as to avoid paying luxury tax in the next season, Scola was used in this trade to e up Jakie's contract while Scola himself was still in the form of rights that didn't have a 's worth in a trade. In return Spurs received V-Span from Houston who was known to them all to have decided to leave NBA and return to Europe leagues. So bascially the only motive that prompted this trade was nothing but a financial relief on the side of Spurs, while a means to upgrade squad for the Rockets. And we all know what a Grandet the Rockets owner is.

I just assumed Spurs would have turned to bankruptcy had they signed Scola, otherwise they would be nuts to lose such a golden siging for the only sake of a couple million bucks. Had Scola been playing for Spurs maybe the Spurs would still have been running for a top 4 seed instead of the 7th or 8th, while the Rockets would have probably been without Scola's signing and Spurs subsidizing.

    Dont forget Michael Jordan.
Or Larry Bird instead of Mychal Thompson. Or Dr. J or Bob McAdoo instead of LaRue Martin.

It's probably likely that the Spurs would have won back to back les if they had Scola. It's unfortunate.

It's probably likely the Blazers could have had 6 les with MJ instead of winning only one le a million years ago. It's unfortunate.

What seed would the Blazers have if they drafted Durant?
    hmm. good question. let's see...
    Roy-Durant-Aldridge
    DAMN. THAT WORKS!
jesus, with that nucleus you have the firepower of a F22.
and all are 25 or younger.
wow, a team around that core is a contender for the next 10 years.
(btw. imagine such a team drafts Anthony Randolph instead of Brandon Rush to turn into Jerryd Bayless.)
uh. now I feel better. I was really turning into a depression because of the Scola story. but to see how other teams blew their chance to become THE franchise of the next decade has really helped me to put things into perspective.
