    amongst awful, massively overmatched players. his stats would probably be more comparable to shaqs stats if he played in todays league.

    A big reason for that is the Celts were so stacked and won 11 years during his career. Same goes for the likes of Oscar, Baylor, West etc. All greats of the game with just a couple of les between them.

    Sure, he got help from clutch mofo's (Cassell, Horry, Ellie), but he didn't have another star with him that season

    Michael had Pip
    Magic had Kareem, Worthy, McAdoo (although Bob had a reduced role)
    Bird had McHale and Parrish
    Kareem and Big O had each other in Milwaukee
    Wilt and West
