    I thought the Postal Accountability and Enhancement
    Act (PAEA) of 2006 largely removed those. Could be wrong...

    I'm gonna have to use teh google.
    To my knowledge, the part of it that affected postage rates makes it harder for the postal service to raise the rates as much as needed. I think the primary effect is that the Postal service is not only paying for retirement in real time, but now have to pay up front for future retirees to the government system, effectively paying double retirement. Congress can just steal more of their money. Think congress will ever give that money back as current workers retire? I think not, that they will tell the postal service it still comes from their revenues.

    The postal service actually works well when congress leaves it alone.

    so are you saying we should close USPS? then what do you think would happen to all that mail?
    All what mail?

    All I get anymore is junk mail and advertisements.

    Anything of importance, I receive electronically or it is sent UPS or FEDEX.
