That's bull . He needs to be in game shape. I've seen too many games where he is worn out in the 4th quarter or overtime. You'd think Duncan was some old man on his last legs in a rocking chair the way people talk around here. He is really get his rest on the court, playing like a vertaran Wilt Chamerlain or Wes Unseld, not worrying about scoring. In the playoffs he will be doing a lot of scoring. No one and out this year!
I think what Mike Brown says about Tim has him pegged.
Duncan is averaging the fewest points of his career, but the drop-off isn't dramatic. He's only 0.4 off his lowest scoring season, in 2005-06, and the win against Cleveland outlined how effective he can still be.

Then, he added three blocks as he centered the defense, and late in the third quarter, he showed his versatility. Duncan grabbed a steal, dribbled up on a fast break and found Richard Jefferson for a dunk.

Mike Brown, the Cleveland coach, was on the Spurs' bench when Duncan was the MVP. And he believes, because Duncan was “never an athletic, gazelle type to begin with,” aging affects him less.

“Tim has obviously gotten older, and maybe slower in this area, or slower in that area,” Brown said. “But I can't see a total difference.”
I think that he needs to pick his spots, and he can be like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Just effective enough.

Well what he means is that these games are not in a row! The schedule of death section was @ATL, @OKC, LAL, CLE, @BOS in a span of 8 days. Those games above are scattered around our next 10 games, in between some very winnable games where our players can get rest.

Mon, Mar 29 @ New Jersey
    Wed, Mar 31 Houston
    Fri, Apr 2 Orlando
Sun, Apr 4 @ LA Lakers

    Tue, Apr 6 @ Sacramento
    Wed, Apr 7 @ Phoenix
    Fri, Apr 9 Memphis
    Sat, Apr 10 @ Denver
    Mon, Apr 12 Minnesota
    Wed, Apr 14 @ Dallas

The scary thing about this schedule is out of those tough matchups, 4 are on the road. We'll be fine though if we continue our recent run of good play.
    That's right.

Record in games decided by 10 points or more:

    http://www.nba.com/standings/team_re...w_Mrg_Div.html

    WEST

    1. Spurs 29-8 +21
    2. Never done anything Jazz 30-11 +19
    3. High al ute only Nuggets 27-10 +17
    4. Old Fakers 26-10 +16
    5. Untested Thunder 24-9 +15
    6. No good in playoffs Suns 25-10 +15
    7. Banged up Blazers 22-12 +10
    8. Overrated again Mavs 17-13 +4

    EAST

    1. Magic 33-5 +28
    2. Cavs 31-4 +27
    3. Hawks 28-9 +19
    4. Celts 21-8 +13

Please note that record in games decided by 10 points or more is a better playoff predictor than win/loss record.

The Spurs are the best in the West, and they are a veteran team which makes this all the more amazing. Only two teams in the east are better than the Spurs, and both play in the easy eastern conference, while the Spurs not only play in the West, but play in the toughest division in all of basketball.

Dude, why the did you even look up that stat!?! Good find. That only reminds me how much I despise the Eastern "elite" teams, they don't have to work for it. Portland would be a top 5 team in the East (prob top3 considering they'd have a much easier schedule), they're just trying to hang on over here though. NBA is ed up, Stern needs to find balance he does.

so if the spurs were the best in games decided by 10 points or less, but got blown out of every game to the point that they missed the playoffs, then "the record in games decided by 10 points or more" would still be a better playoff predictor than the win/loss record?

    ok, genius.

Spurs finish schedule of death with +15 point differential

    That's +3 per game.

That's good enough to win any series in the playoffs against any team in the league.

Just think what will happen when Duncan starts trying, Parker returns, and the Grizzly Blair pulls his ass out of his head!

    Up yours, haters!

    No please no
