I'm thinking he'd almost certainly play if it was Boston and not the worst team in NBA history tonight.
By record they are officially not the worst team in NBA history

Pretty much a loss then...Manu has been carrying this team single-handedly.

he did seem to tweak it last night and he was seen grabbing his lower back and then got sent to the locker room before the game is over. if they continue, an MRI will be done to check for any injury but hopefully he just strained it slightly.

Back stuff is always scary. Anyone remember Bird at the end of his career laying out in front of the bench trying to keep it loose?

Can't believe how many people fear the Nets without Ginobili. This is a W and the Spurs will win by double-digits.
Manu should be fine with an extra 2 days of rest. Watching the moment he went back to the bench, he winced, then stretched and twisted his shoulders to the right. It was a physical game & if this was the playoffs, I have no doubt he'd play. This is strictly precautionary. I will ask those of you who term this as serious to recognize that Ginobili has no pre-existing back issues like say DRob did. That's not an L4/5 sciatica issue, nor is it a tailbone one. That guy is now on RICE and probably getting a massage. Houston will deal with him come Wednesday.

Spurs will be without a point guard. The Spurs struggled to move the ball and had few clean looks when Manu went out. This game could be a problem with the nets trying to avoid imphamy.

Spurs’ Ginobili out with lower back spasms

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili will miss Monday’s game at New Jersey because of lower back spasms.

Ginobili scored 28 points Sunday night in a win at Boston, and has carried the Spurs since Tony Parker broke his right hand. Ginobili replaced Parker in the starting lineup and has averaged 24 points per game while leading the Spurs to an 8-4 record.

Being healthy has been a big reason. The 32-year-old missed the end of last year with a bad ankle and several games this season with a strained groin, but Ginobili has recently said he’s felt his best in a long time.

Backs spasms can be annoying and can keep players out for an extended period of time depending on how bad. Those spasms limit what you can do as far as moving around goes. Stretching and rest is best for it. He did advise Pop about his back when he exited the game last night. So it can be something minor and they don't wanna take a chance, but it could be serious as well. Its best that he doesn't play tonight and possibly make it worse.

I watched the game and it looks like they caught it just in time, he sat on the bench complained and left the arena, so they are probably just sitting him out for 1 game just to be safe. Will be interesting to see how bad the Spurs miss him vs the leagues worst team this year the Nets. Hopefully this gets the Spurs attention to come in and play hard and not let up.

Team bad luck strikes again! Things were going too well, so you knew something had to happen to drown out the positive vibes. It's like this team is destined to fall to the eighth seed, play the Lakers with the big three banged up, get thoroughly dominated and have the national media write another 500 stories about how the Spurs are done.

Was it still intelligent to unnecessarily play him 35:50 last night?

All of a sudden, this team is in danger of losing to the historically bad Nets tonight. I don't think Duncan has it in him to play high 30's minutes and throw up a 25/12, which is what it'll probably take at this point to win this game.

This is from his twitter, what does it mean? I don't even know if its back spasm related (could be about his kids) but it's his latest post from after the game.

that's from yesterday. But he just posted Sweet! about being named player of the week. So he is in a good mood which means injury is not serious

who cares. if we can't beat the Nets without Manu/Parker then we don't deserve to play in the NBA.

If they lose this game tonight, it is going to be very bad. Lets hope this works out. Manu should be playing. You can just get a lead and limit him.

lol @ the people saying it's Pop's fault... if keeping ginobili in the floor for an extra 2 minutes in one game is a big deal, how exactly do you plan on having him 100% the entire playoffs? Gimme a break, in lame
