Anybody who thinks that blocks + steals = defense has no business discussing it.

Robinson may have been better than Ewing, but he's closer to Ewing than he is to Olajuwon.

Look at Olajuwon's defensive numbers. All time leader in blocks. Top 10 in steals.

On what basis do you think Duncan is even close to Olajuwon in terms of defense?
give me the list of olajuwons rockets team defensive ratings

Wow! Kobe and Lebron don't even make the list.
Kobe is close, but I would take Jerry West over him. LeBron hasn't played long enough.

Wrong. Olajuwon is on another level. Look at their respective playoff performances. Olajuwon would elevate his game to another level during the postseason. Can you say the same for Robinson?

Honestly, a case can easily be made that Olajuwon should be ahead of Duncan as well.
Yeah, okay. Good luck with that.

In terms of centers in the 90's, Ewing and Robinson are on one level. Olajuwon and Shaq are on another level entirely. Playoff performances are what separates Olajuwon and Robinson.

And Olajuwon and Duncan are comparable offensively (in terms of production), but Olajuwon was simply a superior defensive player. That's what makes him a better player.
Robinson won more championships than Shaq did in the 90s. Shaq's best basketball came in the 2000s.
